2006 Grand Prix Heater blows cold air only

The blend door is probably what is keeping the air from blowing across the heater core and picking up the heat. I hope your manual gives a description and procedure for it.

The blend door actuator and other heater case doors will be either vacuum operated with a few canister diaphragms situated around the heater case, or they may be operated with electric motors. If you pull off the lower sound insulator panels below the dash, you can see the bottom of the heater case, and then find the actuator for the blend door. If vacuum operated, check for vacuum. The vacuum for the heater/AC controls comes from a single line from the engine, through the firewall, and into the back of the control head or to a control module. Then, many vacuum lines branch out from this central point to the canisters- the heater/AC controls will direct vacuum to appropriate actuators, or servos.

01 grand prix only one side blowing cold air

Did you check the blend air door actuator for BOTH sides or just one? The only things that can cause the symptoms you are descibing is a blend air door actuator that is not working or a broken blend air door.

Although there are several things that can cause the actuator to not work, it is usually caused by a failure in the actuator itself.

If you can actually see the actuator moving when you change the temperature setting, then the door itself is broken....pretty "cut-and-dry".

2002 grand prix. Heater blows cold on passenger side. Driver side and two middle vents blow hot, the other two vents blow cold.

ether the blend door actuator is bad or the climate control module is failing. most likely the blend door actuator. would have to pull most of the under dash out to get to it to replace it. not fun at all.

02 pontiac grand prix blows out cold air on passenger side when heat is on. the heat works fine on the drivers side

Problem with the blend door actuator or wiring going to it (no separate fuse). Most of the time the actuator motor fails and won't close the blend door. I can't guarantee that it isn't a broken wire going to the actuator. It should set a trouble code in the BCM (body control computer) if its electrical because it looks for a feedback as to where the door is positioned.

You would need to buy a factory service manual for that blend door diagram. Try eBay for a used manual set.
