The car will crank no start. Have checked All components that are necessary to get the vehicle to run. Fire to the plugs, fuel pressure 44 psi, fuel pressure regulator good, fuel pump working and holding good pressure, relays and fuses good, crank and cam sensors good.Timing belt good has not jumped.can spray starter fluid in intake and it will run, not vacuum leaks. temp sensor good. My issue is when I pull the fuel rail to observe the injectors, and crank the car the injectors only pulse for a quick second, The problem started when I used on of my keys to unlock the door, which set off the alarm system, used my FOB to turn it off. I can still use my FOB to lock unlock the doors, yet the FOB will not activate the security system, what I mean by this, before when you locked the car with the FOB the lights would flash and the immo light on top of the dash by the windshield would blink. I have two keys for the car if I use one to try to start the car, It set the car with a X on the dash to flashing and it will not crank the car. the other key will crank the car, yet this is the key I used that set off the alarm. My question is, can I swap the Immobilizer ECU and ignition key from the same year and model S40 or V40 into my 2001 Volvo V40? Or are the further steps I can take to troubleshoot.
Hi there my name is Brandon I am a electrical and mechanical engineering technician did you program the th... system and the key and what bout the ecu (is engine control unit it has to be problem) ecu is probably not sending start to cam and crank sen... I would put money on it or the th... system not taking the keys code for it
Sorry it took so Long to replay to your answer. Is there a way for me to check that the ECU is not sending the start signal or checking the key is coded correct? Or will I have to pull the ECU and Innobilizer and send the to a company that does this kind of stuff. I my research I found a company called SOS Diagnostics that reprograms ECU and Immobilizers.
Hi there sir I would pull the wire diagram for it and check out the 5 volt rec circuit bc you have to have it for your car to run !! Take a voltage meter and I start with the tps (throttle pr sen ) n you should have 5v no matter and leave the meter on the tps and start unplug your sen... on the circuit and when you find out the one that brings it back to 5v thats is the sen.... thats shorted out
