SOURCE: LEFT TRAILER TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK

I'd get a 12vdc test light if you don't have one already & start from plug, and keep probing back from there. It may be as simple as a bad connection under truck where joined into harness.

SOURCE: 2001 Dodge Ram 2500, no running lights on trailer

The truck is protecting itself from the load impose by the trailer.. Chk the plug on the truck for wire gauge size. Turn any electrical loads off on the trailer, any and all. If fuse still blows then the fuse is either underated or the trailer has a dead short. In fact turn trail main power panel of. All lights work you say. So ck the inverter for defect byturning off the inverter on one of the trailers.

SOURCE: 09 Silverado LS no trailer clearance lights

make sure the ground wire is hooked up, i've seen many trailers where the ground wire just hangs, then your relying on the ground to work between the ball and the hitch, not typically a good ground.

SOURCE: No trailer right turn signal or brake light

Hey Boon,

The pinouts for a 7-way plug are as follows:
Seven wire Trailer plugs:

Horse, stock or utility trailers:

White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric Brakes - 2
Brown = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Yellow = Left turn/Brake - 5
Green = Right turn Brake - 6
Orange or Purple (not both) = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

Recreational Vehicle:
White = Ground - 1
Blue = Electric Brakes - 2
Green = Tail and clearance lights - 3
Black = Battery, aux power - 4
Red = Left turn/Brake - 5
Brown = Right turn Brake - 6
Yellow = Auxilliary or Reverse - 7

In both cases 4 is battery and 7 is reverse, aux or not used.

Double check your wiring using these lists as a reference.

SOURCE: LEFT TRAILER TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WORK

I have seen once before that the fuse box was bad on a 2003 Dodge 3500. I had power in and nothing out. We had to replace the box. Not cheap! Hope it is simple like a loose connection though. I think I had to pull the inner fender on the drivers side to access the bottom of the fuse box. Pain in the ****, but...

Changed fuses fow tow connector. #3 and # 7. Now the left trailer light,signal, brake,etc works while only right tail light on trailer still works. On right side, the tail works, but not the brake,or...

I would recommend taking out the tail light. Get a test light, have an assantant step on brake. U will see the bulb in tailamp light up. Probe the wire w/your test lamp. That is brake wire. Repeat that process for blinker.. Drop down those two wires. Hook that to the same side on trailor. Repeat for left and you should be all set.

I have a Dodge Ram 2003, and I'm trying to pull a trailor (hook it up with light, signals, etc) and i get breaks and a letf turn signal but no right one, can you help me?

if the right signal is working on the truck then check at the trailer plug to make sure the plug is working. if not then check the wiring for the right signal from the plug back to where it connects to the truck wiring you may have a bad wire. if this is good then connect to the trailer and check for power on the wire for the right signal at the socket. if this is good then replace the bulb. if not then you will have check the wiring for it from the socket back to the plug for a damaged wire.

No left turn/brake light for trailer

In the Uk nearlly all trailor socket wiring is done from the rear light wiring of the towing vehicle so I suggest checking the wiring back from the trailor connection socket and also socket, it could be a broken or cut wire. Also will probably find your vehicle a control unit fitted the trailor socket which could also the problem. Find the pin outs for your turn signal on the socket and connect a bulb across this connection and the common earth to check its not a fault on your tralior.

When i hook my trailor's lights to my 2003 yukon xl, park lights doesnt work, but all other lights work

You mean the truck parking lights dont work, or the trailer running lights dont work? Does the trailer just have tail lights or does it have front and rear side markers? I think you mean the trailer lights. Check for power at the plug,(Brown Wire) if there is power, then you could have wiring problems, but a better description of what works and what doesnt work needs defining.

04 f 250 trailor hook up

Check your receptacle with a test light, to find out if it's the truck or the trailer that's the problem. If you have power at the truck, then take your trailer rceptacle apart, and see what's going on in there. If you don't find it in the plug ins, just work your way back with a test light. Its corrosion or a broken wire somewhere. Wiring can drive you nuts.

the wire you maybe talking about could posibly be for the trailer brake controller, which you have to buy serperate i'm not to sure how much it will run you but i would look into that because that is what the extra wire is usually forwith the 7 prong trailer plugs
