It is located at bottom of radiator, you will need 1/2 inch square drive or a 3/16 inch hex drive to open drain valve. Usually on pass. side at bottom end of radiator.

The coolant-drain plug is found underneath the radiator. Here's a great, handy article on how to go about draining the old coolant and pouring in the new coolant:

Follow the steps of the above-linked article, step by step, to easily change the coolant.

How do you drain coolant from 1995 olds cutlas 3100.

There should be a petcock(drain valve) on the bottom corner of the radiator. Turn it counterclockwise till coolant starts draining. Have a drain pan under the valve.

Remove antifreeze

I am assuming you are asking how to remove your antifreeze. When the engine is COLD- be sure this is true- otherwise it is very dangerous. When the engine is cold, open the radiator cap. Underneath the radiator, closest to the ground, there is a plug that simply unscrews and lets the coolant drain out. Be sure you have something under the drain to catch the coolant, there can be a lot in there sometimes. Also, it's a good idea to run a few gallons of water through after it drains to be sure and get all the old coolant out. Close the plug, and refill with coolant/water mix (50/50).

Hope this helps!

Where is the block heater cord on my 91 oldsmobile cutlass

will be around battery harness or through lower grill driverside here is install instructions hope this helps you find it the car never came with a block heater if you have one it was installed aftermarket let me know if you need any more help

Removal & Installation

Factory block heaters are not installed on these models. If an aftermarket heater has been installed the following procedure will most likely work. There are two basic types, one for the oil and one for the coolant. The oil heater usually just slips into the dipstick tube or replaces the oil drain plug. The following procedure is for the coolant type.

  1. Remove the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system.

CAUTION

When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.

  1. Remove the block heater in the same way as the freeze plugs. Some heater units have a bolt that must be loosened or a V-Clamp that must be removed to remove the heating element.
  2. Disconnect the heater connector and remove the heater element.

To install:

  1. Coat the new heater with sealant, then install the reverse order of removal.
  2. Fill the engine with coolant, connect the battery cable. Start engine and check for leaks

How to change a thermostat in a 1993 oldsmobile cutlass ciera

Drain some coolant from radiator to below level of thermostat housing. Be careful to keep pets away as coolant is very sweet smelling and poison. Remove two bolts holding thermostat housing in place and use catch pan to catch fluid. Clean all gasket material from both sides of housing. Clean threads of bolts and use gasket shellac on them and new gasket. Install thermostat same as old one was, install new gasket, tighten bolts to correct torque value as found in your handy dandy shop manual. Refill radiator and check for leaks.

Overfilled coolant reservoir

This should not be a big deal. You can try a syphon tube but DO NOT SWALLOW ANY COOLANT. Or use a large turkey baster to **** up up coolant. It takes awhile though.
The car is fine to drive.

My 1999 alero is overheating and engine coolant is leaking

hi, i dont know about the dipstick, but your overheating problem is most likely to be the thermostat...sounds like its stuck in the closed position, not allowing colder water to circulate, hence the overheating.......needs changing
