How too change CV axil on 2010 dodge avenger 4 cylinder

To change the CV (constant velocity) axles on a 2010 Dodge Avenger with a 4-cylinder engine, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a jack and jack stands, a lug wrench, a torque wrench, a pry bar, a hammer, and a replacement CV axle.
  2. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Use the jack to lift the vehicle and place jack stands under the frame for support. Make sure the vehicle is stable and secure before continuing.
  3. Remove the wheel. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel and remove it.
  4. Remove the CV axle nut. The CV axle nut is located on the inside of the hub. Use a socket wrench or a lug wrench to remove it.
  5. Remove the CV axle. Use a pry bar or a hammer to gently pry the CV axle out of the hub. It may be necessary to tap the end of the CV axle with a hammer to loosen it.
  6. Install the new CV axle. Slide the new CV axle into the hub and secure it with the CV axle nut. Tighten the nut to the manufacturer's recommended torque specification.
  7. Install the wheel. Put the wheel back on the hub and tighten the lug nuts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specification.
  8. Lower the vehicle. Use the jack to lower the vehicle off the jack stands and remove them.
Note: If you are not familiar with automotive repair or are not comfortable working on your vehicle, it is recommended to have the CV axles replaced by a professional mechanic.

I am trying to replace a wheel lug on my 01 Diamante can you help.

Buy new lug nuts for your vehicle. These can be purchased at an auto parts store or a tire and wheel store in complete sets, online at wheel retailers and through the dealer that sells your vehicle. Be sure to have your make and model of vehicle available so that you get the right lug bolts.

  • 2 Loosen the lug bolts on your vehicle with a lug wrench or a socket and ratchet. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack at the corner where you are going to replace the lug nuts. You can use the jack to support the vehicle while you replace the lug nuts or you can use a jack stand. If you use the floor jack, be careful as you remove and install the lug nuts.
  • 3 Finish removing the lug nuts on the wheel. Thread the new lug nuts onto the studs that the wheel is mounted on. Tighten the lug nuts as tightly as you can with the wheel still in the air. At some point the wheel will start turning.
  • 4 Lower the vehicle back to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts progressively in a crisscross pattern with a torque wrench to the specifications of the manufacturer. This will vary from make to make but is usually around 90 ft-lbs. Repeat the above steps for the other three wheels.

How do i release the spare tire on my 2005 Kia Sedona

Hi, the spare tire is stored on the underside of the vehicle, under the right-side cargo door. The bolt is located in a recessed area that is protected by a small square plastic covering. To remove the spare tire, find and remove the bolt cover, then use your lug nut wrench to loosen the bolt holding the tire.
Remove the spare tire fastener's plastic cover, place the lug nut wrench onto the lug nut holding the tire onto the bolt, turn the wrench in a counter-clockwise direction until the tire is released and reaches the ground.

How do I change a tire on a 2001 town and country

Open the hatch back. On the left-hand side is a panel that you can open in which the jack resides. Take that out.

(If you want to use the spare tire, located under the trunk space...)
You will see a plastic disc on the floor of the trunk space (where you store your luggage/groceries/etc). With a flat head screw driver pop the flat disc up & off. This will reveal a nut that you can turn to lower/release the spare tire that is directly underneath it.

If your T&C is like mine, you have a plastic cover in the middle of each alloy wheel that covers the lug nuts. This plastic cover can be popped off with the flat/nubby end of the crow bar that comes with the jack. It fits perfectly into a slot on the plastic cover.

Once you get the plastic cover off, the 5 lug nuts are revealed to you. Before you jack up the van, even a little, I would try to loosen all 5 lug nuts, just a bit...to get them going. Once the van is jacked up, it will be difficult to begin to loosen the lug nuts.

With the nuts loosened, set up the jack so that once you begin to turn it, the slot in the jack fits right into the frame of the van. You will see the frame that fits the slot in the jack between the front tires and back tires, on either side of the van.

Once the tire you want to change is fully lifted off of the ground, loosen the rest of the lug nuts and remove the tire. Replace it and reverse the order of what you just did. Get the 5 lug nuts onto the new tire, but only snug them up by hand. Once the tire touches the ground as the jack is lowered, then you can fully tighten the lug nuts with the crowbar.

    Hope that helps!

How do i change the back tire

Find the jack and jack up the rear just in front of the rear tire you are changing. (don't lift off ground completely yet). Using the lug wrench (also called a tire iron) break loose each lug nut.

Finish raising the vehicle just high enough that the tire isn't touching the ground. Finish removing the lug nuts, then pull tire off. Put new (different/spare) tire on, and put the lug nuts back on, and tighten by hand until tire is snug. With the car still raised, lightly tighten the lug nuts, until snug again (by use of lug wrench).

Lower car completely and tighten the lug nuts again (do not over tighten). At all points of tightening lug nuts, do so in a criss cross pattern. Start with one, then move to the one directly across from that, and so on (not all will be "directly" across at all times, so just make sure you alternate and don't go in any consecutive (clockwise/counter clockwise) order.
