You say you cant put in much freon, why? you should be able too, even to over charge it. But I want you to check the power to the clutch when it cycles off, if you still have power at the clutch wire (12voltsdc) and the clutch cycles off you have a bad clutch coil, or the wiring at the clutch has a bad crimp. If you loose power to the clutch then the controls are cutting it off, (low press / hi press) switches one or the other. .

We replaced the compressor and cooling radiator under the dash. Now it cools but not enough. Mechanic put in more freon, but it didn't help.

spray cold water on front condensor (rad) to see if this helps
would need to know what pressure are hi and low and cycles of comressors are
to much freon could overload the system and make it run warmer draw out
and put recomended amount in is air flow out at duct proper could have cabin filter
pluged up or blend door not working (sealing properly)

How do i put freon in my 2006 lincoln zephyr?

best bet is to verify thats your problem first. Have a shop check it for you. If it doesnt need freon and you add some you will create other issues. Also if you actually lost freon on a car this new then you have a leak somewhere. Anything you do will just cause more freon to leak into the atmosphere which is a major no no in the Automobile industry. If we released freon we would loose our licence.

How do I put freon into 1993 grand cherokee 5.2 engine?

Look for the large ac line/hose coming out of the ac compressor, and follow that line until you come to a small ac port, this is the low side where you will hook up to to charge.I take it you have purchased a charge hose and freon?Put the can of 134a freon on the can tap at end of charge hose, and the quick connect will snap on the low side ac port on the vehicle.Turn the freon can upside down and turn the t handle on the can tap until it pierces the can.Start the vehicle, and set all settings high blower motor, max air, recirculate mode. The ac compressor should cycle on and off, this is normal, until there is enough freon in system. When the can starts to empty, shake the can lightly until empty. It will be hard to tell, but you will figure it out.Turn the can t-handle back out,and unscrew the can an repeat process until enough freon is in the system. You can get to much freon in the system.so see hoe much it takes to fill it on the label under the hood.If the system was not empty,it won`t take the fill amount,go slow, and feel the cold parts(large ac line near the firewall). They should get dern cool,to cold, and sweating really good.Stop when this happens, and it is cool inside.

1998 Jeep Wrangler a/c problem

If you still have freon in it you can try a new low pressure switch. You should find it around the oblong tank. You can unplug the switch and jump the plug to see if the clutch engages. Moderation is the key. Put in the correct ounces of Freon and the system should cycle. Too much freon it will cut out-too little it will cut out. You want the pipes to sweat or frost and the compressor to go off and on. Also be sure you put in an oil charge for that new compressor.
