Check the fuse box located in the cab down by the drivers left knee. check all the fuses there, also consult your manual and check the fuse for the brake/tail lights. This sounds like a fuse problem more than anything. Thanks for using fixya! Good luck!

its either the throttle cable is binding or you could just loosen the clamp off the rubber intake boot. and pull it off the intake and pull open the throttle and clean the butter fly that opens and closes and see if that helps, if its really dirty with old oil carbon build up itll feel really sticky. does this help

Is the service engine light on? How many miles are on it? This is a common occurrence with plugged catalytic converters, will idle ok but no power on acceleration. It can also be a fuel delivery problem, filter clogged, bad pump... Many possibilities.
