It has 56k miles on it, had a tuneup less than a year ago. Can't remember if the battery has ever been replaced

Do you have an engine light? Throwing a code?
Just does this at idle or when driving/acceleration?
Acting strange changing symptoms (E.G.--idle to acceleration to black smoke out exhaust, etc.)? Plenty of Gas in tank?
I am thinking: No engine light
Clog in fuel filter
intermittent fuel pump problem
A vehicle starting sensor (E.G.--Throttle Position Sensor (TPS))
Main computer
Engine Light: Pull Code
Sensor
There could be many reasons, the idle air valve got stuck or is going bad, maybe a little got caught in the injector or maybe a sparkplug was acting up, i wouldnt worry unless its a problem,i know you dont want to get stuck out on the road, but this kind of problem is going to be hard to find unless it happens more often, i think it may be a idle air valve ,this would just make car stall at a light or run a little rough but you would be able to restart and go, hope this helps.
im assuming that changed the oil unit you mean sending unit ? if so could be electric short in the pick tail or worse wiring harness. second there is also possoble vacum leak .third while unit was being replaced something didnt get put back or got knocked loose. created a new problem. most times as thing are going bad they dont register until it is a prolonged problem as it took 2 days for the check engine to go out that also might have been normal. you might also notice while sitting at park when you turn the wheel you will notice ia differance in the idle, if its almost stalling then its probley your idle, needs re set, or your idle controle valve is going bad ,did it get checked or cleaned when they serviced the throttle body. and also could be your mass air flow sensor going bad or need cleaned
Have you checked your fuel filter or fuel pump as these can cause your engine to to shut off, but there usually is some sort of warning, but not always.
You probably purchased bad gasoline, not an uncommon problem with the gas that's going around now. Run it down to about a quarter tank and then try filling up with a higher octane rating.
