Where is the fuse for tag lights on 88 chevy c1500 silverado

There is not a separate fuse. The tag light is powered off of the tail lights. If you have tail lights but no tag lights your problem is either bad tag light bulbs or the connections between the tail lights and the chassis ground at the tag light bulb sockets.

2005 gmc sonoma. Tag light isnt working . I was going to check the fuse but cant find tag light listed on fuse diagram. What else would they call it so i can locate what fuse its on. And if its not fuse...

You can check the fuse, but the problem usually is the bulb or the socket contacts where the bulb plugs into.
Tag lights (license plate lights) are exposed to a lot of weather/road exposure and bumps/vibration, which shorten their life.

Rarely is a "tag light fuse" listed. The tag light is typically on a circuit with several other lights or accessories, and most commonly on the taillight circuit fuse, but not always.
Only a wiring diagram or a manual will be able to verify which circuit/fuse it is on, so you may have to check several fuses.

IF it turns out to be a blown fuse, your first step should then be to trace and identify the source of the electrical short (usually in wires by the tag light itself). Simply replacing a fuse is NOT a cure or a good 'repair'.

(As I write this, I have 2 tag lights out on my vehicle,, one which I verified is a blown bulb, and the other due to a badly corroded bulb socket)

same lite that control your parking lites. most likely the bulb has burned out. you can acces this from behind the bumper. it usuall twists to unlock the cover to the lite

I have a 94 Honda accord all my lights work fine but my tag lights are not working I put new bulbs in but they still do not come on.

Hi , Not sure what tag light are ? but if you refer to the plate illumination , you can try the hinged wiring point at the trunk/boot pivot point. it's a weak area on older and most likely suspect!
Good Luck

What is the tag light called?not the bulb but the piece you put the bulb in.on a 1977 dodge truck

The whole thing is called the 'license plate light assembly', the part the bulb actually goes in is the 'bulb socket'.
Hope this helps!

The tag lights are on the same fuse as your parking lights check your bulbs the little bulbs don't last long both of them are probably blown.I am assuming you are talking about the license plate lights.

How to change tag lights

I had to remove the entire light bar assy by taking every bolt loose to gain access to replace the tag bulbs on my 2000 Buick Lesabre. It is necessary to replace only one bulb so I replaced all bulbs with the new longer lasting bulbs...the bulbs are not expensive just impossible to gain access to them one at a time. It seems like GM made it so you would have to take it into the GM Dealer. A deep well socket makes the task muck easier! Hope this helps!
