There is no such thing as a 'hard reset' on a car. You are getting confused with phones and tablets. Disconnecting the battery just clears any saved data, and that won't help you. You are falling into the 'let's try replacing this' method of car repair. It is costly and it doesn't work. If you replace the TCM and ECM they need programming to the vehicle.
Find a local auto-electrician. He will have a pro grade scan tool computer that will analyze the TCM and the ECM, and the transmission solenoids and the communication between all those parts. The data from that testing will tell you what is wrong and what, if anything needs replacing.
IF YOU REPLACED TPS SENSOR CAR WONT ACCELERATE THE FUEL FILTER COULD BE STOPPED UP.OR THE ECM FAULTY. ECM CONTROLS FUEL THROUGH THE TPS SENSOR.HAVE ECM CHECKED.
This is caused by the in tank electric fuel pump drawing to excessive current, you will need to replace the fuel pump and replace the fuel pump connector at the fuel tank. Both parts are in the aftermarket. Please note the fuel tank connector MUST be replaced as it is really the root cuase of htis problem.
Yes you ll need a scan tool for a 1999 youll have ti inspect the RPM signal,If the ECM reads greater than 250 RPM and you car will not start the ICM will need to be replaced. If your ECM during cranking reads less than 250 RPM and a Cranksensor was replaced and the ICM is a known good one the last is the ECM only a labscope can do all this test without replaceing parts
dont expect the ecm to be the problem. a good scanner will access the codes. Let me know the codes after you have them read. Autozone offers free scan service. Dont trust there diagnostic skills just get the codes and leave. Before replaceing ecm wireing should be checked
