Purge valve location 2001 chevy cavalier 2.2

The EVAP Purge valve, on your vehicle, is located in the engine compartment. Yours is on the top of the front-right side (passenger side) of the engine. Just in case you need to know where the EVAP Vent valve/solenoid is located, it is underneath. It is tucked away at the rear part of the car, between the fuel-tank and the right-rear fender well. I hope that helps, good luck.

you see code po441 the purge solenoid could be faulty or disconnected. if you have problem with evap switch to vent solenoid you would smell gas fumes in vechicle.check make sure gas cap on tight not leaking because it will set off code po441.

your problem is probably a vacuum hose that goes from the purge valve to the gas tank (crack or broken hose). There should be two of these check both. A broken vacuum line will make the purge valve make a clicking noise that can be mistaken for noisy engine valves.

This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists of alot of parts, including the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicles fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. heres some things you can try
Remove and reinstall

the gas cap, clear the code, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses
Inspect for damaged or disconnected hoses around the Evap purge solenoid
Check and/or replace the sensor
Check and/or replace the purge valve
Have a professional use a smoke machine to detect leaks
