I replaced both front wheel bearings and the lights are still dinging seems like more than what it was does it reset over time or is there something else wrong? Anyone find out after years and years later? Cuz I’m having this issue with my 06 ss impla

Did you have a scan tool hooked up an codes checked ? Lights lit codes are stored. Take it to a qualified repair shop.

Check the speed sensors on the bearing hubs you replaced. Did you damage the wire harness when you changed out the hubs. Did you reset the abs system. You got some work to do & if you don't have the equipment to do it, bring it to a mechanic who does. This may lead you back to the dealer, sorry. Several abs systems are specific to a dealer.

Check for power and ground from the harness first. After that check continuity of the plug and wire of the sensor, After that replace the bearing. It comes with the sensor.

Remove the sensor and inspect it for damage and if there is any foreign objects are attached to it (it has a magnetic field). Make sure your replacement is ABS compatible.

Take it to a mechanic or buy a gizmo you plug into the message control wire by your lower steering wheel and you have to reset the computer. I am not sure the name of the out fit you use but it costs about sixty dollars from an auto store. My mechanic did it for me for forty dollars.

How to reset abs light after installing new brakes

You should not have to unless you somehow messed up a abs sensor or connection. A scan tool would reset it and see which sensor is triggering the light. Also drive it for a day to make sure it doesn't go off by itself. Also check the back of the calipers where the connection is.

How do i reset the ABS warning light and the rear light indicators on the dash?

usually when your front wheel bearing is wrecked the abs will go off.

cant reset the abs light till you change the bearing and get a new sensor..... if the bearing is the problem.

jack the front end up and see if you can wiggle the tire and up and down and see if it seems to wiggle in the hub. if the tire wiggles in the hub (not the suspension, in the hub) your bearing is worn out and the sensor has gone off. the new sensor comes with the new bearing.

How to change front wheel bearing ford focus

You can do it yourself just take your time:
To change front wheel bearing.
1. Jack car up support with jack stands
2. take tire off
3. take caliper and brakes off
4. take rotor off
5. unbolt axle shaft nut at bearing hub
6. use a 3 lb slug with a block of wood
7. place wood on axle shaft and knock it in
8. back side 3 10mm bolts unbolt
9. front side have to pry off bearing hub Assembly only beacuse has dirt in knuckle hole.
10. clean hub knuckle and reinstall.
Its really not that hard or you could have them done for $900 and up. (I have changed alot of wheel bearing assemblies )Whats your e-mail I can send you a diagram if you want.

I had the same problem and I had to replace the axel bearings, it is most likly a worn out bearing. I would hit the pedal and it would activate the ABS and I would lose braking. The bad bearing is losing grip and telling the computer that the wheel is slipping thus causing the computer to activate the ABS. Bearings cost me 165.00 out the door after taxes. No core value on the old one. this should solve your problem, solved mine. Last note: if you are running anything other than stock tires and rims it will wear out the bearings faster than normal resulting from the change in force applied to the bearing. Hope this all helps.
