Raise vehicle up on jack stands so that the stands are under the lower controll arms and the suspension is "loaded" Remove the front tire(s) (if you break the torque on the nuts while the wheel is still on the ground it helps, but do not loosen them completely as you will be looking for new rims and wheel studs too). Place a drift or some other suitable object in one of the brake rotor vanes so that it will hit the brake caliper and stop the rotor from moving and remove the CV shaft nut (it's a big ****** make sure you have the right socket on hand before getting to this point). Next remove the brake caliper and rotor then undo the wheel bearing retaining bolts and remove the wheel bearing. This should give you enough room to move the axle shaft back and up so you can work on the ball joint. If you've had ball joints replaced before just unbolt the ones that are installed and using a pickle fork, or a block of wood and a hammer, drive the ball joint stud from the knuckle. (make sure to support the upper control arm so it doesn't drop down on you when you do this) If you are working on original ball joints then I reccomend placing a block of wood or something else that will protect the cv boots from drill bits ect and drill out the rivets holding the ball joint in place. then remove in the same manner indicated in the previous paragraph. installation is pretty much the reverse of removal and don't forget to torque your cv shaft nut I have a 1999 and the manual specs 103FTlbs... This is a critical torque as it helps preload your wheel bearing. Too high and you'll burn them up, too low and they'll be loose and wear out.

First remove air cleaner top and hose then the upper intake plenum to incluke 8 bolts in middle the wire harness in rear and 2bolts 10 mm support bolts one on rear one by throttle body after that remove fuel line quick disconnect remove bolt under line then4 bolts hold down the lower intake fuel injectors drivers side injector harness now remove lower intake.

The rubber o-rings fell out of the fuel line, and I need to know what order they are supposed to be in so I can put them back correctly.


emove the six reverse torx bolts from the fuel rail using an E7 star socket. You may notice that the paper fuel rail gasket is starting to or maybe already has broken between the intake ports. This will cause a lean code condition. (P0171 and P0174)
2. Gently pry the fuel rail off of the lower intake and the six injectors. Note the orientation of the injectors beforehand.
3. Remove all six injectors and discard all 12 o-rings.
4. Thoroughly clean all gasket surfaces and o-ring surfaces.
5. Clean the o-ring areas on all the injectors.
6. Put new o-rings on the injectors. A light film of motor oil on the o-rings will help in seating the injectors.
7. Put the injectors into the lower intake.
8. Put new paper gasket between the fuel rail and lower intake and make sure all of the injectors are seated into the fuel rail.
9. Put the six reverse torx bolts back in and torque them down in this sequence:
<Firewall 1 3 5
............ 6 4 2
To 12-16 N*m (9-11 lb*ft)

reassembly is the reverse of the dissassembly. after you get this done, get you a cold one. heck get two. you deserve it.

1994 camaro 3.4 injector is leaking unbolted the plenum unpluged the wires to the injectors the plenum will not o come off i am afraid of damageing the other injectors or plenum dont know what to do


The lower intake manifold can be leaking antifreeze, The injectors are reconmended to be removed but they can stay in if nessary the lower intake manifold has 8 bolts and the studs that hold the injectors in have to be removed as they hold the upper phelm on too. To gain clearance to do this job the engine has to be raqised and the motor mounts removed and the then the engine lowered with the mounts removed. the engine will now be low enought to get to the rear bolts. The service maniul says to remove the subframe bolts and lower it all but the steering collum has to be disconnected or the rack released from the subframe and this is an area for damage. I lower the motor with the mounts loose. Break lines and ABS conponants are in the repair list if you let the subframe down too far.

1. Detach everything connected to the upper Intake manifold
2. Remove the upper Intake Manifold
3. Remove the fuel rail and injectors
4. Remove the IM
5. Replacement is the opposite.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
  2. Drain the engine oil.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable Intake manifold bracket upper bolts Clutch release cylinder and move it aside, if equipped Intake manifold bracket lower bolts and remove the bracket Starter from the clutch, manual transmissions only Starter from the torque converter, automatic transmissions only Starter electrical connectors Move the transmission wire harness aside Starter

To install:
  1. Install or connect the following:

Putting in injectors


take off the plastic air duct then split the plenum ( that's the aluminum thing on top) this should be 10mm Allen screws. you will need a new gasket for the plenum. inside the plenum there are a few more screws to take off the lower portion of the plenum attached to the intake manifold. remove the lower plenum ( you will need a new gasket here too). Once here there are 4 more allen screws to remove the fuel rail. if you pull the injectors from the intake manifold you will need "O" ring gaskets and a drop of oil to reinstall.
here is a side note that will make your life allot easier: If it looks like it's in the way, remove it, because it is. This will save you hours in the end.
