They are completely unrelated issues.

The odometer problem can probably be traced to an electrical issue of some kind and you would begin with an inspection of the wiring and wiring connections.

I just replaced my serpentine belt 1 day ago and it broke again. The repair shop said that all pulleys worked when they replaced it. So what else could it possibly be?
What does the break look like. What i mean is, the way the new belt broke will help determine what is wrong with it. My educated guess will be that the serpentine belt tensioner is siezed. this is what applies pressure to the pulley.

The serpentine belt broke on my2002 subaru outback
There is a distinct possibilty there is engine damage caused when the belt broke. It is best not to turn the engine at all once this happens. Sometimes you can be lucky and there be no damage. Let's hope that's so in your case. These belts are supposed to be replaced every 100,000km.

You need to have an automotive technitian install a new belt because there is a certain path the belt must follow before it will go on, plus the belt must go around the A/c as it is part of the path. You just don't have to use the A/C.

Tell the tech that the belt broke so that he can look for a reason as to why the belt broke.
