Question about 2000 Volvo S80

Why does my 2000 S80 T6 Volvo sputters?

I have a 2000 S80 T6 Turbo with only 73000 miles. It has always worked fine and has had regular maintenance. Lately, it started sputtering, mostly within the 45-65 mph and most often when the engine has been running for a while. Sputtering occurs occasionally, along with a transient drop of RPMs. I can have a 5 miles ride with no event followed by a one mile ride with many transient sputtering events. The engine starts well and sputtering never occurs in idle mode. There is no warning or message indicating a problem. I brought the car to the Volvo dealer, who connected VIDA for codes check. Nothing abnormal was found and, of course, it did not sputter while at the dealership. As I drove back 20 miles, the sputtering resumed . I had the dealer replaced all spark plugs with Volvo plugs. I separately checked that the clamps of the vacuum hoses were tight. The sputtering continues. Any suggestion? Going back to the Volvo dealer seems a waste of time and money.

The Throttle Position Sensor is worn. The TPS attaches to the side of the Throttle Body Module which is located at the front of the engine below the Intake Plenum and is held on by 4 bolts. A contactless kit was designed to replace the TPS.

My volvo s80 will not start and when it does the engine shakes and then it dies out, it says "Reduced Engine Power" what can that be?

Have the timing checked if you can get it runing for a few minutes. If not I would have the computers codes checked if possible. It sounds like a timing problem

Does my 2002 S80 Volvo have turbo or not?

is this a t6? if so yes. turbocharged engines have more horsepower than naturally asprirated engines, a turbo charger works like a supercharger by forcing more air into the intake, while a super charger is usually belt driven a turbocharger is exhaust driven, it will be located in the exhaust pipe or exhaust manifold and is turned by exhaust gases passing thu with the opposite side connected to the air intake pipeing, some have the intake air piped thru a intercooler which is mounted in front of the radiator(cooler air is more horsepower)

2000 Volvo S80 T6 scanner code P0237

Actually I believe the code has something to do with fuel.. the P0237 means Powertrain (P), the 0 means its a common code throughout all vehicles not manufactur specific and the 2 means Fuel , the 37 is the specific code and says the problem usually that i dont know off hand but if theres like a lack of power or you know this is creating a misfire i would start out by checkin fuel pressure [pressure, pump, rails] and then fuel delievery [injectors].

hope that gets you started or an idea maybe

ps a turbo is something you usually install yourself so the car shouldnt be equipped with a turbo sensor...i dont think that exists
