The light will only quit flashing if there is no problem, So you must have a problem. Do this get to the diagnostic mode only this time count the flashes these are codes, it will look like this example a flash followed by Two fast flashes is code 12, Three long flashes followed by Three short or fast flashes is code 33. When you get the code use the testimonial to tell me what they are. It will show up in my email. I hope this helps. Take care.
If it is an automatic shift you should have a neutral safety switch between the key switch and the starter. I would check that and for power at the starter when it fails to crank. If it is a manual shift there is a switch on the clutch pedal or linkage. It may be tough to find until you can duplicate the problem on demand. Could also be a dead spot in the starter or solenoid.
"If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Here is how to reset it:
1. Turn the key from off to on.
2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.
5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.
6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.
If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again."
You can't jump wires to read codes on this model.older modules you could.check engine light will come on and stay on with key in on position.this is normal.Check to see if security light is flashing after you try to crank engine. If so you have to relearn theft module by leaving ign key in run position for about 12 minutes until security light stops flashing.Very common problem
it sounds like you have a draw on the system. in otherwords something electrical is staying on. take a test light, disconnect the battery cable loose on the neg side. hook the test light between the neg cable and the neg post on the battery.. if the light is bright start pulling fuses out until the light goes out or gets dimmer, because you have to allow for clock etc..once the light goes out find out what that fuse power ups. see if any thing on that circuit is staying on.
Try this too and if it doesnt work the first time u might have done something wrong and try it again. if u can reset it then u will have to have it scanned1. Turn the key from off to on. 2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly. 3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .) 4. Reply With Quote
It means they didn't reset the oil change light. It means it's 17 miles past due and counting.
To reset, hold down the reset button for about ten seconds until everything in the display starts flashing.
Then while it's still flashing, hold down the reset button again for ten more seconds until the oil life says 100%.
when the airbag light is on it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called th clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the wheel.
