Wipers come on when blinker is turned on and won't go off

I have a 99' GMC Yukon and my windshield wipers have gone haywire. When i turn my blinker on, the windshield wipers come on and will not turn off. Also, if the wipers come on accidentally like that, the left blinker will not work. I think this is something in the motherboard and not in the turn signal switch, but i am not sure. Any suggestions?

Motherboard?

I think it's a problem with the wiring harness. Probably have a short somewhere.
In reality, things like this, with american cars, it's pretty normal.

I had a ford taurus once.... it was full of electrical and mechanical faults.

Consult a dealership, they could do some troubleshooting.

99 yukon brake lights will not work, repllaced brake light switch still wont work

Had the same problem on my Yukon, I had to get the winshield wiper switch (controls cruise control, turn signal, and winshield wipers) replaced. This switch controls the hazards as well.

One windshield wiper won't lift when turned on

Sounds like possibly the R/S armis loose or stripped . Also check linkage. With car and wipers off, carefully attempt to manually move R/S wiper arm. There should be little or no movement.

2002 gmc yukon wipers

Hi, you need to remove the linkage from the wiper motor, turn the wipers on, wait for the motor to cycle and stop on its on, turn ignition off, now the motor is "self parked" you can put the linkage back on making sure the wipers are at the bottom of the screen as required. Let me know if you need more help. Davelee.

99 Yukon windshield wipers sometimes won t turn on and other time stop after working

We had the same problem and sometimes they wouldn't turn off. The intermittent wipers were random. We replaced the wiper motor. Be sure to get the motor with two balls on the wiper shaft (one for each wiper arm). If you can't find it, you'll have to change the part out on the new motor. Keep the wiper arms in the same location on removal, or it will jam and you'll have to start over.
