How much does a water pump replaced cost for a 2003 Jeep Liberty?

Most water pumps come with a pulley already fitted. Replace the entire pump and pulley as the pump blades are plastic and wear over time. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend changing the pump everytime you replace a timing belt. If you are removing the belt to do this job swap the timing belt for a new one. Always a good idea on older and higher mileage vehicles.

check level of coolant and check for leaks and unless you wiped clean your engine after doing repair most possible is coolant residue burning off engine

It is always a good thing to replace the thermostat when replacing the water pump. Not really that it is necessary, but it will prevent opening up the system again in the near future. Also water hoses should be checked and when dried out replaced at the same time. At this time you should also replace the radiator cap, if it was not done lately. The radiator cap will regulate the pressure in the cooling system. The higher pressure is necessary to raise the boiling point of the coolant.

your water pump might giving out the will cause an overheat and your power steering to give out, the water pump is and cheap and easy fix cost about 80.00 all together with the coolant you can do it anywhere as long you got tools to do it

I had the same problem i change the bottom hose and the water pumps inside came loose replaced water pump....Also it has a bleeder by the top hose by battery get the air out.....

I show the pump is about $60 average cost, labor about 2 hours, so ayt my shop the job plus coolant ($30) would go for $300

this could happen sometimes when a sensor is bad start by replacing the crank sensor that's located by your no. 1 piston it costs about 30.00 dollars and it's easy to replace it only has one two bolts good luck.
