Hi Ricky, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Ricky, if the high beams work when you hold the lever in, then its the high beam switch NOT the light switch. The lever controls the high and low beams. You need the multi-function switch which is also the dimmer switch. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website at: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

SOURCE: 2003 buick lesabre heated seats wont work

I had this problem, but only on the driver's side (with leather seats). Sometimes the switch would come on, but I could not get it to go back off (and the seat would not heat).

I ended up removing the drivers front seat cover (only the bottom part), folding it back from the driver's door to the middle of the car. You also have to unplug the wiring harness underneath the seat. I found a black spot burned in the foam. This is where a wire had broken. I carefully pulled the wire together, then soldered it. I put everything back together, and it has been working ever since (about 6 months - and getting lots of use in the middle of the winter).

I think the only way to replace the heated seat wires is to replace the whole seat cover. I was glad I could fix mine by soldering it.

If both lights quit working, then either the switch or the fuse is bad.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Liberty 3.7L. What would cause the headlights not to work?

Hello Joe

Not sure what you mean when you say "when I turn the lever loose"?

It sounds like the switch is faulty. If both headlights come on and then go off when you touch the lever, you know it isn't the bulbs, relays or fuses because they start off working.

@Larry Ng is the Fixya Expert on Jeeps. Hopefully he will come by tomorrow.

The headlight dimmer and bright switch do not work. We can still turn on the brights by holding the lever back. When we let go the lights go off except for the parking lights. The lamps are and fuses are...

The problem is most likely in the switch. This switch is quite involved to remove and the contacts should be cleaned and their gaps reset. This is most likely best done by an auto electrician as removing the switch to do this requires that the steering wheel, airbag (if it has one) etc be removed.. The lamps may also run from relays which are switched by this switch so check the fuse panel etc for headlamp relays. Other then that, I would advise you take the vehicle to a professional..

2000 lesabre head lights will not come. the engine runs but no head lights.

To the taillights work, as well as the signals, and break lights, do the high beams work..check To ensure the connections to the headlights are not corroded and secured otherwise switch may be faulty. Start with that first as well as check all your fuses.
