Starter relay location

Sounds like the starter is going bad it is located on the engine no pun intended . The starter will be located where the engine and the transmission come together that is called the bell housing. The starter starts the car by way of the fly wheel dont worry you cant see the fly wheel just a little FYI. If you change it your self make sure to unhook the battery first to prevent a spark.

Wont start just click.

Even after charging the battery or jumping? Do you know where the starter is located and what it looks like? Round, 3 wires coming out of the top, located under the engine at the rear. Check these wires and make sure they are secure. Located on top of the starter is the selonoid which causes the starter to engage. With the vehicle in park, emergency brake applied, have someone try starting it while you lay underneath. Listen for a clikcking to come from the seloniod. Can put your hand on it and feel the click too. If you get a strong click, but the starter does not engage, you may have a bad starter. Not too hard to change out but take battery cables off 1st! Also change the seloniod if you take the starter off. You do not want to do this twice so easier to make sure both parts are new. GT

I need to change the starter but don't no location

The positive battery cable is the red one. The thickest red conductor should go straight to the starter. This is the largest current that your car's electrical system ever uses.

The starter is probably on the bottom of the vehicle. When the ignition switch is turned on the solenoid switches on the starter motor and a gear pops out of the starter body and engages a gear on the flywheel. This cranks the engine.

There are lots of YouTube videos of starters and stuff. You might even find a car similar to your own. Disconnect the battery before working on the starter. Disconnect the starter terminals before unbolting the starter from the car.

This is knuckle-bruising stuff.

How do I change the starter on a 96 sebring coupe

Are you sure it is the starter? This is a picture of where the starter relay is....may be easier and cleaner to change this first....unless it is your starter...none-the-less....here is the info....and not sure the size of motor so pick accordingly:

RELAY REPLACEMENT

See Figure 15
On Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring convertible and Breeze models, the starter relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) in the engine compartment. Refer to the underside of the PDC cover for starter relay location.
On Sebring and Avenger coupes, the starter relay is located under the instrument panel, behind the instrument panel/center console panel. It may only be necessary to remove the center console panel to access the starter relay. However, if the entire console requires removal, refer to .

Hi, Need help with a diagram for the starter location on a 1993 Saturn SC2 2door. I have an automatic start and car alarm system. I believe I may have a loose wire or connection, as she is acting up....

sounds as if the starter is going bad or the remote sensor is not understanding the vehicle has started but if you are trying to locate the starter simply follow the battery red or + positive cable down to the starter itself always located at the bell housing between the motor and the transmission

94 toyota carolla starter clicks eventualy starts

You have two options: replace the starter (easiest, but most expensive), or replace the contacts (cheaper, but more work involved).
In any case, you have to remove the starter. Disconnect the battery BEFORE you start. Locate the starter and remove the wires going to it. The starter is held onto the transmission with 2 large bolts. Remove both, and slide the starter out.

If you want to change the contacts, observe the starter, locate a metal plate held on with 3 bolts. Remove the bolts and the plate. You will now see a plunger, and 2 copper colored contacts. Those are what needs to be replaced. Changing the contacts is easy, just do one at a time, and ensure that all insulators are installed properly on reassembly.

Changing the Starter

The starter is located on the passenger side rear of the engine Two bolts(size13mm??) Be sure to disconnect the pos. battery cable first, before disconecting the wires from the starter, otherwise, you'll ground those wires out and have fireworks. Also, draw out a diagram of the wiring before removing them,so you'll know where they go back on your new starter.
