Hi Josephath, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Josephath, anytime the code relates to a CIRCUIT that means that it could be a broken wire or the connector going to the Crank Position Sensor "CKP" . The connector could be corroded or a broken wire or a damaged terminal inside the connector. It also could be the CKP Sensor has gone bad. It also could be the computer that controls that circuit. Looks like a boost sensor or part of the circuit is malfunctioning. I think you meant a Nissan Terrano? It could be something as simple as a sensor went bad or a hose came loose, to major turbo or engine damage. I would check to see if any of the intake hoses are not connected or loose first, then go from there. The vehicle's computer knows the ballpark value of the boost pressure, but the sensor is sending no signal (or completely erroneous values), so the computer cuts fuel in order to prevent serious engine damage.

My 1996 Nissan maxima turnsover but don't start all the time

It is either the starter or the ignition switch in the steering column which does not need to be keyed. Get the part from the Nissan dealer or if it's the starter get it from Auto Zone bc it has a lifetime warranty on it.

With or without a filter? Have you lost the dipstick? Fill it to the full mark, about 6 liters without filter, plus 1 litre to fill the oil filter. Run engine then check levels again. Try not to overfill the sump.

Possibly the "Mass airflow sensor". I had a similar problem, basically the car behaved like it didn't have a turbo and was really slow. Unfortunately the Mass airflow sensor is expensive, about AU$800. Only failed once several years ago. Hope this helps.
