Last weekend, I drove two miles and the engine stalled when I stepped on the clutch after I got home. The next day, it wouldn't start at all. I immediately thought it was a bad coil pack. I've had this problem before with this car and a new coil pack solved it. So I checked the resistance of both coils 1-4 and 2-3 and sure enough, both were over the maximum allowable resistance by about 400 ohms. So I put a new coil pack in and it started right up. I'm thinking problem solved. I drive it for about 1/2 mile and I notice a hesitation in the engine. Then, when I stepped on the clutch to shift gears, it stalled out. Tried to start it again, no go. I finally got it started, but had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling. I have no idea where to go from here.
IAC - idle air control valve ? Maybe a vacuum leak .
Testimonial: "Many of the posts here suggest that bad IAC valves have that kind of affect on an engine when it accelerates or has a load. But this problem only occurs after the engine warms up and has been driven. Acceleration, deceleration, and load seem to be irrelevant."
