a crank sensor will make you not get a signal to trigger the power for the coil so that may be the problem with it. If all else is ok, is the check engine light on to scan it for the crank sensor code.
i had the same problem with my moms 90 sentra... it turned that it could of been either ignition coil or pickup coil.. if ignition coil is good then possiby it could be pickup
Normally we start with the basics, are the spark plugs firing and are the fuel injectors opening and providing fuel, and does the engine have compression. Also, are there any stored trouble codes in the computer? There is a relay that powers the injectors and fuel pump. You say you are getting fuel so we will assume that relay is ok. The crank or cam sensor could have failed, or a list of other things. You will need to figure out if you are lacking fuel or spark to the plugs to proceed.
There could be a few reasons it doesn't. It may be your spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor, coil pack, cam sensor, dist. cap, even the PCM. You need to test each part to make sure. That would be the only way to actually know. You would need to check the wires and pins. Anyone could cause it.
Check ignition coil pack for spark, at ignition coil with engine running disconnect one spark plug wire at a time, they should all spark, if no spark out of any of the coil pack, replace coil pack.
1. Get an INSULATED wire and hook it to a ground on the car. 2. Get some one to help you 3. pull a spark plug wire off the coil 4. hold grounded wire close to, but not touching, the part where the spark plug wire connects 5. keep hands away from coil and have your helper turn the engine over ( start car and turn off) 6. if there was a spark between the wire and the coil pack it is good. if not, the coil pack needs replaced 7. replace the spark plug wire 8. test the rest
