Question about 2008 Volvo S80

1 Answer

Where is the fuse for the trunk light on the 2008 S80?

Both trunk lights are not coming on when I open the trunk. I checked them with an Ohm meter and they are both good. I suspect the fuse, but can't locate it in the owner's manual. Where is the fuse and what is it number?

I'm sorry, but the manual does not list the glove box or interior lights. Could you please give me the number of the fuse. And which box I can find it in?

Place a meter on the supply line, (12Volt!), if voltage is there, suspect the ballast unit, if not trace the supply back to the switch and ignition supply.

Suzuki forenza trunk release

fuse blown
fuse that look good can be bad, if they look bad, they are.
use any DMM meter, use Rx1 ohm range. check for fuse continuity.
if zero ohms , iTs good, and the meter never lies.
learn to use the meter.
if the fuse is good, use the same meter, to measure voltage
and trace the wires to the failing point. (open circuit)

Look under hood and take off the cover on driver's side electrical box aft of air cleaner. Find the ECM fuse and remove it for a couple of hours.
Alternate is to undo battery ground cable in trunk for a few is off until the computer sees the problem again. so it there is something that needs to be fixed then the light will come back on

I keep blowing my tail light fuse

Once you remove the Right hand side tail light assembly (by removing 3 wing nuts from the trunk), look straight down (from the tail light opening). You will see the top of the muffler and there is a wire harness right top of it. Check for wear/heat damage.

How do I replace the brake light bulb in a volvo S80 2001? I am getting the message "check brake light." Is this a fuse or bulb problem? I have never done this before. Can anyone help?

This would be a bulb problem. You can open up your trunk, pull back the liner, and find the screws that hold the lens on, remove the screws, pry off lens and then push in and turn counter clockwise to remove the bulb. Then the new bulb pushes in and turns clockwise to lock in place.
