I don't think the anti-theft is the problem.
On GM vehicles, the anti-theft system will not allow the engine to crank, or get fuel or spark. If it cranks, you have a different problem.

The security light is on my 1998 chevy blazer after i installed a fuel pump after i dropped the tank

You are most likely experiencing a failed or failing Antitheft security system. Gm has had issues with this system since they first installed them in the early 80's. Low voltage, a dead battery, or time can trigger the failure on these systems. Contrary to what others may tell you, this system CAN be bypassed and eliminated. People will tell you that it is impossible, or even worse, Illigal. This is simply not true. It is your vehicle and you can do whatever you want to your vehicle. This site has a lot of information and can help you beat this problem yourself for far less than the $1000 dealer quote.

98 Chevy Blazer wont start after replacing heads

Make sure you have power to the fuel pump. On this model you should hear a quiet high pitched mosquito in your ear sound when you have all the lights on the dash panel just before you turnover the engine. If push comes to shove, take the fuel pump out, keep the power on it and run it through a bucket to see if you can at least pump water through it. Make sure you let it dry out all the way though before placing back in the tank.

Chevy blazer problems

Does sound like the fuel pump if it started after tapping on it,but the security light is a different problem. That will also kill the fuel, but if you drove it home, that problem must have started after you got home. Not sure what year it is but if it has a chip in the ign. key,try a different key,if there is no chip run the pass key relearn .
Takes about a half hour, make sure the battery is fully charged and try to kill the daytime running lights if possible,(maybe set the parking brake, some trucks that shuts off the DRL)
Then crank the engine, leave the key on(as if it was running) after about 10 min the security light should go out. When it does turn the key off and crank it again, same deal, key left on for 10 min. till the light goes out. Have to do this 3 times ,should start on the 4th attempt. That will reset the security , but if the pump is bad it still may not start, the security light should be out tho.
When the pumps wear out the brushes you can get them to run once or twice by tapping on the tank, sometimes, but it sounds like a pump as in order.

98 Chevy Blazer 6 cylinder. Just replaced timing chain, ran good for 30min. died in middle of road. Towed it back and opened it up again, timing chain was fine. Put it back together and started it up, ran...

This sounds like a fuel starvation issue.
Is the engine running smoothly? Have you checked the injectors? What warning lights are on the dashboard?
Running the engine at idle, put some injector cleaner through the system. The only other reason could be a faulty engine sensor of some kind.

Loss in fuel pressure

Need a new battery first, or charge the battery...if the battery is over 3 years old, I would just replace it, also may need a higher output alternator with more amps, to run the electronic fuel injection, fuel pump, and ignition etc...
