The rear doors will not lock.

May not be a solution, but do you have keyless entry? If so and you have the fob in your pocket, pulling the handle will open the door and should disable the alarm. If no keyless entry, check the child locks on the rear doors to be sure they are off. Also check the fuses for the door locks to be sure they are not blown, there may be more than one. Finally, do you have to press "lock" twice to lock all doors?

I need to disable my alarm on a 1997 bmw 528i.

Now im not sure since the manual says your model has the same alarm system as the 328i and on the 328i you can remove the module to disable by doing the following. you can unplug the control module. It is located under the glove box. Climb under the dash on the passenger side and remove a few screws on the trim panel under the glove box. Theres a black control module with a green connector. There should be a lock tab on the connector. press the lock tab and pull out the connector. The alarm should now be disabled. But if it has the special transponder key this may not work.
But if the only reason you want to disable it is because of the motion sensor setting of the alarm for no reason there is a solution for this. To disable the motion sensor, hit the lock button to arm, then hit lock button again within four seconds to disable motion sensor. Red light on rearview mirror should flash four times, then pause, then start flashing on regular intervals. this is most likely the reason if your having the issue where the alarm goes off every 20 minutes.
If you want to completely remove it below is a wiring diagram taken from the manual for you alarm system.

How do i disable/desensitize the alarm? It went off 4 times in the middle of the night - only the wind was blowing. It is causing my wife and daughter issues sleeping.

Nissan does not have motion sensitive alarms. Your vehicle has an aftermarket alarm on it. Nissans audible alarms will only go off if you open the doors, trunk/rear lift or hood.

Have a 2000 VW Beetle. The alarm won't turn off!

My 2000 Beetle does same thing (although not all the time). Just found an internet post that suggests there is a problem in the door lock sensor. I assume you are using a regular key - not
the keyless entry - like I am. He also said that you can disable the alarm (also disables the
keyless entry - which doesn't bother me) by leaving the front door AND the rear trunk open and
starting the car up. Seems to work so far. I will get the door lock sensor replaced and turn the
alarm system back on (not sure how yet), and let you know if that stops the problem.

How do you disable the alarm on a mercedes benz 300E 1987

Use your door key and unlock your drivers door ... that is what disables the alarm system. Make sure that the battery is rehooked... because i'm sure you took the battery loose when you couldn't get the alarm to turn off.

1994 jeep grand cherokee

You cant disable it realy..but you can use the key to unlock the driver door or the rear door. Both have a alarm shut down wire..Also that wire could be broken in the drive door boot...very common. The wire is purple and yellow..Touching the wire to ground shuts the alarm off. Just make sure if its broke that the end going into truck is the one you groung on the frame. Also locking the doors from the inside with the driver door open is what activates the alarm. That wire can also be found in the drivers side kick panel.....
