What could be the problem..if I'm parked with the engine on it will shake--no engine light on, but I have a pwer train warranty and they said they fixed the trans because it was slipping..got it back and 2 weeks later car shakes..what could that be??

I called this morning and spoke to a tech at the ford place, and explained the issue. He said it doesn't sound like trans because it's in park? Can that still be the trans acting up?

The torque converter spins with the crankshaft of the engine and can cause vibration. A number of issues can cause a miss in the firing of the cylinders of the engine that will cause a shaking/vibration of the vehicle.

The engine shaking

If your car is shaking while it's on but not actually moving, then it's likely not the tires. This usually means there is something broken in the engine, such as the radiator fan or engine mounts. Fuel system issues can also cause the car to shake even while standing still.

2005 chrysler town and country when i start the van it shaking vibration hard in park and in reverse it and in neutral and in drive it perfect.it drives good on highways no shaking

try to increase the idle-rpm..
Example - at standstil condition when you start your van, have look at rpm... say 1000 or 1200 or 1500.. whatever it may be..
Keep idle-rpm a little bit higher, if previously it was 1200rpm then set it to 1500 rpm..
If the problem is solved then..
1) clean ur airfilter
2) check spark plug condition
good or bad... if bad then replace..
3) check fuel supply line, if it is damaged or folded

Transmission slipping on 03 GMC Envoy. what does iy mean when trans fluid measure high on dip stick?

Two things: #1 someone has overfilled it by mistake thinking they were putting oil in the engine. Yes I have seen this.
#2 The transmission cooler in the radiator could be leaking antifreeze into the transmission through the cooling line raising the fluid level. I would look for milk shake foam on the dip stick and make sure you check trans in park and not neutral.

98 buick park ave. shakes n shifts hard and noises, is this a transmission sensor?

sounds like a trans mount when they go bad it causes all kinds of shakes , have someone put in gear ,open hood,, watch motor. tell them to hold brake and give it a little gas .Don;t stand in front of car .....see if motor raises up if so replace all mounts motor included. this is a common fix on theses cars.

1993 Chavrolet Cavalier it shakes badly in parking mode

Yes I have repaired both of these concerns on hundreds on 4 cyl. GM models most of the time the bad engine mount is the one on the passenger side of the car.And it is the TCC solenoid that gets stuck on.

Vibration when in gear, and stalling.

The problem is the torque converter solenoid. I had it happen on my 94 Cavalier a few years back and was a cheap fix at the local car mechanic. What happens is the transmission warms up and hits a certain speed where the solenoid engages, but then it sticks and won't disengage until it cools down sufficiently. When it sticks, it causes the car to shake when slowing down and will snub out the engine if you come to a stop.

Engine shakes whole car

More than likely it is your engine mounts. If you have cracked or deteriorated mounts, the engine will vibrate with the symptoms you have posted.
