SOURCE: my truck 5.9 cumming diesel turbo will not start

It has a fuel transfer pump (low pressure) May be mounted on the engine block next to fuel filter housing or it could be in the tank, depending if it has been updated, Came from factory on block, but later updated to intank> Fuel transfer pump pressure should be at least 8 psi> the injection pump then raises pressure to open injectors. May have to replace transfer pump first or you could possibly have a plugged fuel filter. Do you have any smoke coming from tailpipe while cranking?
Injection pump failure is a common problem. The diafragm breaks inside the injection pump if you run low transfer pump pressure> This causes the timing to be off thus no start. Really best to have it towed to experienced diesl tech. He can get you the right answers rather than just replacing parts, Can get in your wallet real quick,

This is not an injector problem, you mush have something else going on. Have the dealer test the system electronic controls.

Hi,is the high pressure diesel pump timed too the motor of a2011yang kyron?

if it is a common rail diesel --no
the high pressure pump just supplies diesel fuel at a pressure of around 25,000psi to the injectors and the fuel control module controls how much of that pressure is allowed past the injector tip
if you look at the pump and see steel lines from the pump to the injectors then it will be timed to the engine

Nearly stalls on start up and at low revs

If you have what is called a "common rail diesel" I suspect that the diesel pump is not providing sufficient pressure for the system at low rpm's I would suggest that you have the pump pressure tested by an accredited diesel pump shop . The faster you spin the engine then the higher the pressure generated by the pump.

SYSTEM WONT BLEED

diesel engines high pressure pumps not suppose run dry.diesel fuel keep high pressure pump cool and lubricated.problem could be fuel pressure regulator in the fuel filter water separator housing.replace fuel filter see if it helps problem could be fuel pressure regulator in fuel filter housing, the fuel pressure regulator has a air bleed orifice that allows vent to the fuel tank.make sure fuel pump fuse okay pump getting power. i would let garage or dealership check it out if all fails because your diesel engine fuel timing is pcm controlled if let fuel system go dry you probably have to have fuel injection timing reset or could have damage high pressure pump letting it run dry i hope thats not the case because high pressure pump not cheap part i hope it not that.

2006 ford f350 deisel turns over wont start unless i use starting fluid it then runs great. changed fuel filter oil filter and oil, wrench symbol came on went into engine fail safe mode, said something...

the diesel engine is a 6.0L or a 6.4L? because the 6.0L don't use electronic throttle control. they control the demand of diesel threw the high pressure oil system they have a sensor call injector pressure regulator. this sensor is responsible of maintain the proper pressure in the high pressure oil system so that the engine could start . i also suggest you to check if it is any leak on the high pressure oil system or if the low pressure system is delivering the pressure required for the high pressure system to work properly. to do that you most have a scan tool. also you can check the pressure of the diesel pump that its in the chassis to eliminate the high pressure oil system as the cause of your concern. if u don't have the proper gauges to check the pressure of the diesel pump you could remove the cap of the small fuel filter that is next to the oil filter remove the filter and put the ignition switch in the on position and see in the container if you have a fast or slow filling. if you encounter that the filling is too slow then your problem is with the fuel diesel pump that is on the chassis this pump is called HFCM, Horizontal Fuel Control Module

How to fit a diesel pump on a landrovertd5

Firstly, remember the TD5 is a common rail engine. It's only fuel pump (unless you have a webasto auxillary heater) is the in-tank high pressure pump. This is accessed through a panel in the boot floor.
