The problem could be plugged up catalytic convert it is related to tune up.One more thing fuel filter too. Check auto zone if they have anything to burn out catalytic. When you change with standard catalytic you will have code PO420 will be a headache!!!!!!!! 80% cars have this problem Think twice before doing anything.
clean throttle body with combustion chamber cleaner.. you need probably a tune up like spark plugs, cap, rotor and take cylinder compression.
hope it helps
You could have a clogged fuel filter, if you haven't changed it in awhile. You could have a leak in the intake system somwhere also. When you slow down, you get less power to the engine. It may need spark plugs and wires as well, if in need for a tune up.
YOU NEED TO ADJUST IDLE SPEED TO 750 RPM FOR THE 2.4L ENGINE AND THE 3.0L ENGINE IDLE SPEED NEEDS TO BE 800 RPM.THAT IS THE REASON WHY TRUCK STALLING YOU NEED REALLY TUNE UP ENGINE THEN ADJUST IDLE SPEED.
It might be that it could be in a desperate need of a tune-up, or a Major Tune UP. The symptoms sounds like what was going on with mine, until I got a major Tune up.
replace the electric part of the ignition down on the steering colum ....u will have to drop the steering colum down but not totaly remove...fixed 2 s-10 trucks same year that way
A few things actually lol. How long since its last tune up? A dirty air filter, worn spark plugs and wires and cap and rotor can cause a poor idle and stalling. Not to mention a dirty fuel filter. The fuel filter is in the gas tank unfortunatlly :( Try giving it a basic tune up " about 45 dollars" and see if that helps. Good luck.
change fuel filter. add can of SEAFOAM(parts store) to 1/2 tank of PREMIUM gas. let car idle 3-5 minutes. drive hard at least 10 miles.

you have what I call Ethanol Gas Syndrome. the ethanol gets in your system adds water and turns fuel to brown goop, it also carbonizes valves, injectors, and emission parts.

you might want to change f filter after 500 miles(again). add SF every 3-5000 miles, and this will clean the carbon; fix the gas and fuel system, and dry the water. good luck.
