Gap is the space in between the tip of the spark plug and the core/electrode. Spark plugs normally are gapped at the factory to meet the specs of your vehicle. Not all spark plugs have the same gap, depending on the material they use for the core and manufacture, they can be different. You can call any local auto parts and they can tell you the recomended material and gap for your car. Good luck!
When you buy plugs that fit your car, they are gapped to specs, but you should always check the gap anyway.
The spark plug gap should be shown on the Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label, under the hood or on the radiator support, the long white label or sticker.
