Question about 1996 GMC Sierra

Open Question

96gmc Sierra , got a new multifunction switch but the harness it plugs into has broken teeth. How would I fix that?

Should I wire in a new connector ? The middle plugs is starter and stuff like that right? How bad can you make things, if I were to wire in a new connector?

Where is the steerin column ground in a mercedes w 203

In the mb w 203, steering angle sensor (sas) is plugged in the multifunction module which is connected to the wiring harness through a snap on connector. The scan tool was constantantly indicating the fault in the sas where as on diassembly I found that one of the connector pin in the module was broken. I changed the module and the problem was fixed.
