had a similar problem with a hyundai coupe , this turned out to to be the door lock mechanism in the drivers door, so could be the place to start, as i would have thought that generally the power locking technology is the same universally
This is accomplished through the use of door lock actuators. If it is only 1 door, it is most likely that the door lock actuator has failed. It is not uncommon. These can be purchased through Ford or Jaguar and is something you can do yourself depending on your ability.
if you have the handbook try reseting the alarm then use the remote to lock/unlock car.....
or try this....with new batteries in the remotes. shut all doors/windows,lock car with key and hold key over for 30 secs, then using the remote unlock and hold down button on remote for 30 secs.if remotes not working then you will nneed to get them recoded to the car...
Seperate key fobs only can be programmed in the following way.
Turn ignition on/off 8 x times (allow all functions to stabilise) after the 9th on - press a button on both remote fobs. then turn ign. off. use good remote to lock and then try new remote to unlock/lock. sometimes it works first time - sometimes you have to repeat actions. good luck.
