How to put 2007 Chrysler300 gear into natural when the car battery is dead and the key stopped working

If you're unable to push the gear shift into neutral in a 2007 Chrysler 300 when the car battery is dead and the key has stopped working, there is a solution that can help. You can locate the shift interlock override mechanism to manually put the vehicle into neutral. First, remove the plastic cover or cap located near the gear lever to reveal the shift interlock override slot. Insert a small screwdriver or a similar tool into the slot and apply gentle pressure while simultaneously attempting to move the gear lever into neutral. This should release the shift interlock mechanism and allow you to shift the car into neutral. It's important to exercise caution and consult the vehicle's manual for precise instructions tailored to your specific model, as the process may vary slightly.

How to disengage Park into neutral to push/tow van

sure you can the operator guide on all cars glove box there.
shows park neutral lock out.
Key on, step on brake key on, shift to neutral. (battery not dead)
do not tow it with steering lock enabled. that be horrible.
all cars have a chapter on towing,
wheels up or down front or rear up or down or flat towed

and with RWD and wheels on ground rear, the towing distance is limited to 200 miles or less. so when the rear transmission bearing runs dry and not burns up, < all you need to know there!
most transmissions made (not my 64 Pontiac rotohydramatic)
has the 200 mile limit, the transmission has no rear tail shaft pump now days, ALL TOW shops know all this stuff.
Same with 4wd and same reasons
my Jeep i can tow it 200miles, called flat towing but must stop and start engine every 200miles to add lube to the rear.(tranny shafts)
flat towing is the hard job and I bet you meant flat towed.
and hope only short distance,

lost the key?
battery dead Not told?
best is leave key turned on , hold foot brake, shift to N and then key off but do not set the steering lock ever. (pause and think now)
for some jobs (ask U-hual) they have a bar the locks the steering to FRONT, hard locked, so cars KEY lock can not engage.. towed.
if battery is dead ,jump it. then go to neutral
some cars vast the same manual
shows how to defeat the P/.N lock with a secret part of the shifter console we push that, and P/N is defeated just for towing.
we have no Iveco 3.5 ton curtain sider , in USA
nor any year told
ask the make for the manual on your car in YOUR country
"Today it is marketed in 110 markets around the world" but not USA

I have a 2014 Buick LeSabre. The electronic key is dead and I need to put the car in neutral to tow it.

most tow company's know of this and have simple devices to cope with this problem (dolly wheels) , if your going to tow it yourself then let me caution you on towing a non running electronic transmission auto , 1st don't do it ! there are lots of tiny parts in there that wont last too long getting moved around in there backwards , second reason lots of these new cars have built in auto theft deterrents , it might go into neutral but if it thinks its being stolen (tilted) it wont stay there (doesn't matter what the gear shift says)
now of course you can move it short distantances in neutral (like off the "railroad tracks") but it is just better to replace the dead battery in the key to avoid any problems before trying to tow it someplace

Automatic shift stuck park

flat towed, in park is not possible
the shift console, has an emergency park lockout, release feature
what is broken, unsaid.??????
the lost operators guide covers both towing rules
and shows that emerg. button location. use it and shift the shifter to neutral.
the front wheels are locked in park.
the problem with flat towing any car are many.
steering lock failure. (locks in motion)
transmission oiling , when the engine is not running the
transmission pump is dead, and oil lube is lacking to many critical areas..
page 163 here covers, the magic switch (emg)
http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM12656U/pdf/4.pdf

page 160 is tow.
no flat towing.
it can be towed on its rear wheels all day long.

the transmission issues, can be very serious.
do no listen to some dweeb saying gee i towed min 500 miles the wrong way, do not. he never rebuilt a transmission in his life and dont understand how it works deep inside.
page 161,
Never tow a vehicle with an automatic
transmission from the rear with the
front wheels on the ground, as this
may cause serious damage to the
transmission.

page 162, emergancy towed with chains (flat)
short distance with a driver in the seat
in neutral. , ACC position at key switch.
obviously if the key switch parts, are bad, this dont work and would be
very dangerous to all person, in car, towing, and me on the road.

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer and would like to tow behind my motorhome with a tow bar. How do you place vehicle in neutral for towing.

You can disconnect the battery and leave the key on to leave the steering wheel lock off or better yet disconect the shift cable and manually set the transmission lever to the neutral setting. Refer to your owners manual before attempting any of these proceedures

Can a 1998 4x4 S-10 blazer be dinghy towed?

Yes it can, just place your Transfer Case in Neutral position.
Shifting into NEUTRAL
To shift the transfer case to NEUTRAL do the following:

Make sure the vehicle is parked so that it will not roll.
Set the parking brake.
Start the vehicle or turn the ignition to RUN.
Connect the vehicle to the towing vehicle.
Put the transmission in NEUTRAL (N).
Shift the transfer case to 2HI.
Simultaneously press and hold the 2HI and 4LO buttons for 10 seconds. The red NEUTRAL light will come on when the transfer case shift to NEUTRAL is complete.
Shift the transmission to REVERSE (R) for one second, then shift the transmission to DRIVE (D) for one second, or FIRST (1) for vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.
Turn the ignition to LOCK.
Place the transmission shift lever in PARK (P), or FIRST (1) for vehicles with a manual transmission.
Release the parking brake prior to towing.

Shifting Out of NEUTRAL
To shift out of NEUTRAL:

Set the parking brake and apply the regular brake pedal.
Shift the transmission to NEUTRAL (N) and turn the ignition to RUN with the engine off.
Press the button for the desired transfer case shift position (2HI, 4HI, AUTO 4WD or 4LO).
After the transfer case has shifted out of NEUTRAL the red light will go out.
Release the parking brake.
You may start the engine and shift the transmission to the desired position.
Excessively shifting the transfer case into or out of the different modes may cause the transfer case to enter the shift protection mode. This will protect the transfer case from possible damage and will only allow the transfer case to respond to one shift per 10 seconds. The transfer case may stay in this mode for up to three minutes.

NEUTRAL: Shift the vehicle's transfer case to NEUTRAL only when towing your vehicle.
Good luck and hope this answers your question.
