SOURCE: Lancer has a cylander 2

try changing the spark plugs , this usually cause this problem if this doesn't work check the plug to see if it has oil on the end that goes into the engine if this happens then you need to rebuild the engine, good luck.

My 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo kind of spits and sputters while driving. What could be the problem?

There are several potential issues that could be causing your 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo to spit and sputter while driving. Here are a few possibilities:
  1. Fuel delivery issues: If your engine is not receiving the correct amount of fuel or air, it can cause hesitation or rough idling. This could be due to a clogged fuel filter, a malfunctioning fuel pump, or a problem with the air intake system.
  2. Ignition system issues: A faulty spark plug, ignition coil, or other component of the ignition system can cause misfires, which can make the engine hesitate or sputter.
  3. Emissions system issues: Your vehicle's emissions system is designed to reduce harmful pollutants in the exhaust. A malfunctioning component of this system, such as the oxygen sensor, can cause the engine to run poorly.
  4. Electrical issues: A damaged or worn electrical component, such as a sensor or relay, can cause the engine to run rough or stall.
  5. Transmission issues: If your vehicle is experiencing transmission problems, such as slipping or shifting issues, it can cause the engine to hesitate or sputter.
To determine the exact cause of the problem, it's best to have your vehicle diagnosed by a certified mechanic. They can perform a diagnostic scan to check for any error codes or issues with the engine, transmission, or emissions system.

USA car? y/n what engine,?
sputters, not bog, do you have full power wide open throttle.
sputters means to mech, MISFIRING
if it is misfiring the OBD2 scan tool tells you it is, and even which cyclinder fails like P0301, = cyl, #1 misfire.
what is and ICA, there is no ASE listing for ICA< so you typed it wrong, my wild guess, Idel Air speed controller is yes ,that is not cause of sputter ever.
Bogging means like dragging 10,000 pound weight or pulling 2000lb boat up PIKES PEAK, CO.

here is a list for misfire, (takes tools and skills and tests to find it)
  • bad fuel (car sat over 1year not driven?)
  • bad spark
  • low fuel pressure if sputter means bogging and not misfire.
  • EGR stuck open. (if it has one , no engine stated)
  • clogged or leaking fuel injectors, will make misfire.

if bogging , add, bad MAF sensor, and low fuel pressure.

Why does my 2000 S80 T6 sputter between 45 and 65mph?

misfire? check for bad coil (your engine has 6 coils) not hard to replace.

2004 lincoln navigator evap system leak

The P0456 is not your cause here. If there are no other codes present other than the P0456, try unplugging the mass air flow sensor and see if the sputtering goes away and if so, replace the mass air flow sensor. You could also have a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump (low pressure)

Have you checked the throttle body? That requires an annual cleaning and could very well be the cause of the issues you have with your Honda.

Santa fe sputters from idle

There are a few thing that could cause this to happen, the first thing is that you need to make sure the check engine light is not on, if it is or not still have the computer scanned for any codes, the computer is always watching the operation of the engine and if there is a problem it will store a code and turn check engine light on to warn you of the problem, the code will come out as a set of letters and numbers and tell you were the problem is. it will not tell you whats wrong but just the component that is failing and then with some testing the problem can be found.

the sputtering you speak off could be due to a coil that is bad and causing engine to misfire, or even a vacuum leak or spark plug.
There are many auto part stores that will scan the computer for free and give you the codes, start by having the codes read and then write me back with the codes. Here is an example of a code, let say code po301 cyl 1 misfire , came up as one of the codes.

As you can read it tells you that cylinder # 1 is misfiring, then we would check the coil for that cylinder and the sprak plug first.

make sure to get the complete code, good day.

Car sputters and engene light comes on in the morning of rainy days only

check the BAP (barometric air pressure sensor), rainy days mean odd Barometric pressure, so the sensor could be faulty, a simple multimeter can show you what voltage it is putting out, and replacing it on a rainy day might show you that it is faulty as well

[email protected] have a 2004 cavalier with the 2.2 eng the check eng light stay on an it alos blinks..the car has a miss in it while idiling or accelerating but at a stedy speed it runs fine an has good...

well the light is blinking because of the misfire it is setting a P0300 engine missfire detected, a plugged fuel injector will cause that misfire or a incorrectly gapped spark plug, also a bad egr valve will cause a rough idle and acceleration problems.but for a correct fix with out throwing parts at it will have to be done by a pro
