How do i fix this problem ? clanking high pitch sound coming from intake.

yes could very well be an exhaust leak.but that should be kinda loud and annoying..also u could have a slight whistling sound coming from ur air intake hose coming from air cleaner box to ur intake or throttle body or ur air inlet goin to the motor. when the motor is accelerated it would produce a high pitch sound like a whistling .hope this can help

I'd guess you have some rubber hoses deteriorated and or off so Air is rushing in the gaps. Check all small rubber tube around the air intake up to and near the engine. I would guess all need to be replaced. Cheap insurance against failure at a bad time.

Better get a mechanic to check it out before you drive it very much.
Could be a lifter or piston pin with no oil.

hope that it isn't the head gasket (white smoke from oil or water ending up in cylinders?)-check water for bubling, and oil spending perhaps, could maybe be faulty lambda probe(exhaust)/air mass probe(intake) or broken exhaust/intake gasket causing wrong mixture(more fuel) - the car can spend much more fuel as normal, can also be the spark timing too late maybe.high pitch mechanical clanking at higher rpm can be heard from the valves - perhaps timing belt?. if it is some kind of electrical fail you are lucky :)

I know i have the same problem, and i also noticed than when i open the Hood the whistle just stops, so i figure out it must be some air cycling in or out osmewhere, I found out my air intake connected to throttle body was misplaced a weird gap was left open allowing air to whistle. u might wanna check there

It is possible that you have a leak in your intake manifold... when the gas peddle is applied the manifold takes in more air and makes a high pitched sound because of the crack.

Try checking the dust guards at the front rotors. All the way around. Also check the wheel bearings for free play.

You didnt indicate whether you ran the engine with the belt removed while replacing the alternator,if not do so and verify noise. Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak, best way to diagnose would be with a smoke machine if not available with the engine cold try spraying carb cleaner around the intake & any suspect vacuum hoses with engine idling look for a change in idle speed or elimination of noise. It sounds like you broke what is called a sun gear drive shell its a common problem with that trans.

it is the fuel pump this is normal
