Which one? There are two crankshaft position sensors on the 3.1L.
One is the 24X sensor. It is located behind the crankshaft pulley, installed into the timing cover. The other sensor, the 7X sensor (this is the one that is it fails will cause a no-start condition), is located on the outside of the engine block, close to the crankshaft.

you will have to take off the coil packs and move them out of the way. then go in from the top. its kinda tight but just move whatever else is in the way

It's held down by one bolt right above the timing chain cover. It's next to the head that's facing toward the front of the car.

sometimes you can test the sensor with a multimeter(volt meter that measure OHMS), it should have some reading, if it is open(no reading) it is bad. Some autozone locations can test this sensor
