My car (95-Nissan Maxima, with 160K miles) wouldn't start when it is heated by the sun light. Someone suggested that the ignition switch needs replaced. Any suggestion and cost estimate for the corrective work, please? Thanks. Benji Tel. 562-430-1204 [email protected]

Nissan maxima keyless entry problem. vehicle will

sounds to me like you need a new ignition switch. not the ignition in which you put the key into but the switch that is mounted to the back of the ignition switch. there is a white round switch mounted to the back of the ignition cylinder. I thing it has a problem. so you don't need the while ignition cylinder, but the electrical portion of it only.

95 maxima hard to start

Remove the high tension cable to the distributor from the ignition unit. Conduct a spark test. If there's no spark, try to replace the ignition coil or the igniter.

How to program 1997 Maxima remote

Try this it works for the 95 and 96 models it should also work for all models 95 thru 99. 1st you need to get in the car and hit the lock button on the drivers door switch. Make sure doors and windows are all shut. To program the remote you must insert the key into the ignition 6 to 8 times rapidly in a 10 second time period and when you have done it correct the hazards lights will then illuminate twice. Next then you must hit the lock button quickly on the remote due to a slight time delay only hit the button once. Keep repeating this step until it works and to find out if it worked hold down the trunk button or the unlock button(the front windows should let down on you Mad-Max.

95 nissan maxima. won't start or even turn over. has full battery power to everything. Even tried jumping. has 190k on it. my guess is starter. any way to diagnose or know for sure before I replace the...

Find the starter loctation. On top of the transmission. There should be a decent sized red wire and a smaller black wire i beleive. Anyway the smaller wire gets power from the ignition switch. Take a test light and while someone its turning the key to start it the test light should light up when touching the smaller wire on the starter. If you are not getting power to that wire it could be a broken wire or your ignition switch. If you are getting power then try tapping on the starter with a screwdriver or hammer. Lightly not to hard. It might start but either way you will need a new starter. Hope this helped
