Mine did this and I replaced the drivers side bag. That was the side that was dropping. After getting the air suspesion bag out i could still not see any holes just what looked like dry rot cracks. The problem with not fixing is that you can overheat the compressor and it is alot more costly to fix.

The air ride in my 02 seville wont raise the rear.I hear the compressor kick in when the car is started at least i think its the compressor it's coming from the rear Any idea how to fix it ?

Here's an idea to get you started.
Put the back end of the car up on ramps so you can crawl underneath it.
With the front tires blocked securely, have a helper get into the car and roll down the windows so they can hear you talk from under the car.
Have the parking brake set.
Take a bucket or container of soapy water and a brush, and / or a spray bottle of soapy water, and crawl under to car.
Have the helper start the car, and look and listen for leaks.
I have heard the air bags leak on air ride cars after a few years. The soapy water should show a leak when applied to the air bags and the air lines.

I have a 2003 envoy where the rear end is riding realy low any ideas

I had the same problem with my '02 Envoy 4x4; had the soap test done and there were no leaks; also had the air compressor motor checked and mechanics said it was fine. The rear air bags were worn and cracked so I had them replaced. It lifted and rode at the correct ride height for a few weeks.
After having the rear air bags replaced I noticed that it was starting to not lift as before. Had another diagnostic check; the air compressor was not forcing air through the system in order to lift the vehicle. The air compressor motor was replaced. Compressor comes on and shuts off now.
Vehicle is at the normal ride height now.
Rear air bags and air compressor motor were dealership parts; unable to find after market; not recommended to replace with used parts.
I had the dealership to run the diagnostics and had another mechanic to replace the parts. Total repair for bags, motor + labor = $1500

Just had car dealership repair 1997 lincoln town air ride

Those Lincolns are notorious for that,I'd just get a set of coil springs out of a Crown Victoria cop car(junk yard)and swap them out.Done it many times, you can do it in about an hour, and they'll never leak down again.By the way, there's some O-rings in that system.Make some soapy water and spray every connection, just maybe you'll get lucky.

The air ride compressor comes on too often

If the compressor is constantly running you have a leak. The leak is either in the line running to the air bag or in the air bag itself. If you're lucky, it's in the line which you can determine if ou trace the lines running from the compressor while its on and listen/look for a leak. The lines run all the way to the air bags which have an electrical relief valve. It's possible the relief valve was damaged when you jacked up the truck as well. If no leak is discovered, then you've got an air bag issue and will need a technician.
Best of luck.

My rear suspension falls all the way down overnight

the car falling down means there is a leak in the air bag or lines and bleeds down over night, if u lift car in the air after it blows up you can spray the bags and lines with soapy water and look for bubbles. once leak is found you replace the broken line or bag, fix soon or air pump will start to over work and burn out or wear out and be very expensive to replace.
the code numbers would help with engine problem was it too lean?

Suspension air compressor

If your compressor is running all the time, it is almost certain that you have a leak. It could be either in the lines going to the rear air bags, or the air bags themselves. Simplest way to find a leak, is to get a spray bottle with soapy water, make sure the suspension is aired up, and spray the lines starting from the compressor. Work all the way back to the bags, now when you get the bags nice and soapy then bounce the rear of the truck up and down. If their are any leaks the soapy water will bubble up showing you wear the leak it.
That is how i would start.

If its a bigger leak the rear air bags wont stay aired up, if its a small leak, then the air compressor will be running all the time to keep the truck aired up.

Remember, when you are driving, the compressor is constantly working to keep the rear bags at the proper height, even more so on rough roads.

No air reaching air bags/compressor does not come on when car turned on

This is a very common problem with all Lincolns. The air ride suspension are marketed as a luxury-comfort item but most do not know that they have a 100% failure rate and are designed to fail as shortly after the warranty expires as possible. The air bags that support the weight of the vehicle are not designed to withstand temperatures below 40 degrees or above 94 degrees and are very prone to dry rot. Once the bags start getting tiny cracks and leaks they start overworking the compressor. (Picture trying to blow up a balloon with holes in it.. you will try for as long as you can but will ultimately have to give up) These air ride systems can be very difficult to accurately diagnose the first time and consequently very expensive. Most people seem to be converting to a passive suspension system these days as the ride quality is too similiar to notice a difference and the reliability is paramount. http://www.strutmasters.com offers a high quality conversion kit that utilizes powder coated American steel coil springs that are actually designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm there is a direct link to the Lincoln page. I hope this helps save some of you a little bit of grief and a lot of money in the long run!!
