The first LED flasher only lasted 2 yrs. this flasher is 2 yrs. old also. Stops if brake is depressed hard. Truck is not driven much. This problem as well as shutting off after running 15 min. or so and not starting after cool down. and batteries go dead after a week of not running it. They are new optima gel cell. Ficm has been rebuilt and still seems to be bad.
Hi,
If I understand you right based on your post/description, the signal lights would still turn on even if any or both of the flasher relays are removed. Should this be the case, then the signal lights are not getting the power from the flasher relays but from the brake light circuit.
Perhaps your concern is not with any of the flasher, but simply missing or loose ground more particularly with the rear lights. Perhaps you could try determining which of the wires for the brake lights and signal lights (as they come out of the light assembly) would be ground . A test and even possibly a temporary workaround is to hard wire a second ground connection from the determined ground wire of the lights and attach it to any conveniently located bolt or screw to the body. it may be to your advantage to do this on all the rear lights assembly.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Usually the flasher relays are located either under the dash or out under the hood in a small black box along with some other fuses. You can try swapping the flasher relays with other relays (for example: fuel pump relay, headlight relay, etc...) just as long as they look the same. If your flashers start working then the relay is your problem and you can go to a local auto parts store and pick up a new one for about $10.

Could be oil pump, also could be sending unit. When did you last change oil, is oil low? If it's been a while try putting in high mileage oil with higher viscosity, 20w50 for example
