How do you change a water pump on a 2000 Cadillac Eldorado

if you have the north star motor it on drivers side tward front grill, you will find a belt cover you need to remove an you'll need a special tool most auto parts stores will rent it to you for a small fee ,it likes a large socket ,if you have the new one you'll see how it fits in socket, using a rachet with socket place over water pump and turn a 1/2 turn to left and it's out ,replace in reverse ,take care not to disturb new o ring seal ,and don't use silicone to seal it , BUT general motors strongly suggest you do use some type of motor sealant , now for the bad news =these motors are very bad with over heating issues that have plaged the north star for years , if you drain antifreeze make sure you use air purge valves to remove any air from motor (purge valve looks like a brake bleeder screw ) or it will continue to over heat, im guessing that's why your doing this , if over heating is a problem take the time to go over all aspects of the cooling system =belts, flushing motor, cooling fans working correctly ,coolant filled, well I REALLhope this helps you ,good luck with it .

Why does my 96 Cadillac Eldorado battery keep discharging?

First step have the battery tested, a bad cell can cause a internal drain and kill the battery, if the batt is ok then check for interior lights like visors that stay on or interior light that come on by themselves at night due to defective door switches.

All of a sudden she runs rough. Check engine light on steady then blinking now just ON. She's not hot. It seems she's lacking power and taking bit longer to finally shift.2000 Eldorado ETC 2 door...

If the cel is flashing, it indicates a misfire, which can quickly ruin your cat converter. If you wish to repair it yourself, have a qualified repair facility diagnose it, tell them up front of your intentions, and pay them for their time. Good luck!

Have oil leak in my 1999 cadillac deville north star engine..I just noticed about 1 pint of oil on my carport...very clean oil Thank You

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I guess you find and push the "fix oil leak" button or take it to a mechanic so he can put it up on a rack, find the leak, and give you a price to fix it.

Access to odd numbered spark plugs on North-Star V8

To gain access you have to remove the ignition coil pack. There are only 4 10mm bolts holding it on. Also remove the cross over to have more room.
