Where are the two engine coils located?

the coil pack on the four cylinder is located under the metal cover on top of the engine. There are four bolts and one large connector on the drivers side. Once the cover is removed you will see the ignition coil housing, also common to fail. You will need to remove the housing to access the 2 coils.

on the 6 cylinder the coils are mounted to a bracket near the back of the engine. Pretty easy to spot if you follow the spark plug wire to it.

FIND THE FIRST CONNECTOR IT COMES FROM. YOU CAN GET A SCHEMATIC FROM YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY. LOOK UP AND LOCATE CONNECTOR ON SCHEMATIC. IT WILL SHOW YOU CONNECTOR NUMBER, WIRE COLOR AND TERMINAL LOCATION TO VERIFY. THEN TRACE CIRCUIT

if you haven`t started replace one wire at a time and you won`t need a diagram for this.you can also go to the library and get a book for your car that will show you the location.if you look at the coils near the towers where the wires connect to they will have the cylinder number on them.the cylinder match on the coils is 1-4,3-5,2-6.

I would start with checking your plugs and plug wires. Check the wires for worn or burnt spots. You can take a little spray bottle and mist your plug wires. Then see if it starts to miss or you might hear it arcing which will be a snapping noise. I believe your car has a coil pack that all of your wires go to. I would start with the plugs and wires if they haven't been changed in a while.

You dont's say what engine but the coil is easy to spot, the coil lead at the distributor is the one in the center of the dist cap. Follow that to the coil. here is a picture of the coil.

You are incorrect sir. There is a very good Youtube video showing you exactly where it is that is how I changed mine. The Crankshaft is located behind the engine block below and around from the cam sensor which is easly spotted looking at the engine. The crankshaft is in a difficult spot but once you figure out where it is it's easy...ish hope this helps

it is a pick up module in the distributer then to the coil!
