Where is the blower resistor on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

I was told that the blower resistor is in the blower box behind the glove box on a 2001 Nissan Sentra. Is it difficult to find it and get to it?

Its actually not that bad to change. If you open the glove box and remove the screws then the screws along the bottom of the glove box at the bottom of the dash the box will slide out. Remember to disconnect the light if it has one. Now you will be able to see the underside of the dash. You can see a large black box that has wires and vacuum lines all over. You need to locate a small flat plate with two screws and a plug in the middle. Disconnect the plug and remove the screws. The resistor will come straight out. The back side will look like small coiled up springs of different sizes. Install in reverse.Hope this helps. Good luck. Please re-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.

Try removing the glove box door it may expose the resistor or get on your back to remove an access panel under the glove box some cars you don't need to remove anything just lay on your back and look up under the dash around where the heater box is and use a 1'4 inch drive rachet with perhaps a swivel end to reach screws

this solution is a little late, but if not already done here is how to fix. yes its the resistor pack, i just fixed this on my 97 sentra. you are looking in the right place, taking the glove box out is how you get at it.

to find the resistor pack you must locate the fan blower motor, its right behind the glove box near the passenger side footwell near the door. it is a big bulky looking cylinder. the resistor pack you are looking for should be to the left of the blower motor. it looks like a rectangle, the pack is held in by 2 phillips head screws. unscrew them and simply pull that piece out. it will look like a card at the back that will resemble a circuit board. once its out, replace with a new pack, screw the screws back in, put the glove box back and thats all. hardest part of the install is getting the glove box out, very easy to do took me 20 mins.

My heater blower is not working.

Have you checked the fuse . If it's not the fuse then check the fan speed resistor? If the resistor is partially burnt out, you should still have at least one other fan speed. ( In my case I had only the high speed.) The resistor is mounted on the Air box and where the fan wire is connected to. Its behind the glove box and easy to find. Remove the glove box by undoing two hinge pins. Rotate the hinge pins upwards and slide them out. The glove box will drop out and you have access to the resistor. Unplug the wiring connector from the resistor and using a multi tester check the continuity. Replace resistor if faulty. Hope it works for you.

2001 Nissan Sentra A/C Blower Not working

I enjoyed the same problem on my 2001 Nissan Sentra three months after I moved to Florida from New England. It is not a fuse; the fan would not work at all if it was a fuse. Your problem is the fan motor resistor behind the glove box. The classic symptoms are that the fan will not operate except on 4 (full speed). You technically could replace it on your own but I took it to my Nissan dealer and had it replaced for under $100, parts, labour, tax, and coffee.
