If all the bolts are off, then the gasket is holding the oil pan in place and your going to have to tap it with a mallet, Not a hammer but a mallet so you don not damage the oil pan. Good luck and hope this helps.

What is the easiest way to remove the oil pan

Once you have all the pan bolts out, remove the bolts on the front two motor mounts. Use a floor jack and a piece of wood on the crankshaft pulley to raise the engine just enough to clear the suspension and steering components.

How do I remove the oil pan on my 2007 Chevrolet Uplander?

I've had this problem on mine. Found out the reason was because there's four bolts on the side of the pan two on each to be exact and their 13mm nuts same as the ones around the oil pan once those are removed your pan would drop easily. Be safe, wear safety goggles ?? and good luck

I have took all of my bolts out of my oil pan and it comes out alittle but it gets stuck about half way coming out and I can't find why it wont come out

Did you remove the transaxle brace from the oil pan. Also I believe the starter and an engine mount needs to be removed as well. Also the bolts on the right side are not the easiest to get at. Not saying you stupid or anything but make sure and double check you did remove all the bolts especially the right side bolts. That's about all I can tell you from experience on replacing one before.

I need to know how to troubleshoot oil pump problems on a 1997 pontiac montana and how difficult it is to change.

You need to remove the oil pressure sender by the oil filter and put a manual gauge in to see what your oil pressure actually is. The oil pump is fairly easy to replace, just drain out the oil and remove the starter. You can get to the oil pan bolts and then lower the pan. The oil pump is held onto the rear main bearing cap by one bolt. Remove it and lower it keeping in mind that the oil pump drive shaft will come out with it. Make sure the shaft hasn't rounded off, if its worn, replace it.

Change an oil pan gasket on a montana

Go down to your parts dealer (hopefully Auto Zone :)) and get the gasket as well as oil and oil filter (unless you are going to use the old oil and have something to catch it in). Drain the oil. Remove the bolts on the oil pan. Remove it and the old gasket. Check to see that ALL of the old gasket has been removed. Clean the mating surfaces. Put new gasket in place on the pan and place to the block. Install bolts and tighten to specs. You can get the bolt torque specs from AZ as well. Add oil before starting engine

Removal of Oil pan

did you try giving it a gentle smack with a rubber hammer? these pans are usually glued on with silicone and will not just fall off after unbolting... sometimes you need to get something like a paint scraper and slide it between block and rail to seperate the two.
