you have to get a reading of the on board diagnostic system, Autozone read it for free . then they will print a code for you that will show which part is causing the problem (oxygen sensor or the catalytic converter )

You have to remove the differential housing cover.
Then turn the center housing until you can see the 5/16 bolt that holds the center pin that goes thru the spider and axle gears.
Remove the bolt and center pin,be careful that the gears stay in place.
Then push in on the axles to expose the c-clips on the end of the axles and remove the c-clip.
Then remove the axle.
