SOURCE: 1997 honda civic firing order, 4 cylinder

1.6L Engines Firing order: 1-3-4-2 Distributor rotation: Clockwise.

Loosen the air cleaner cover retaining clips


Move the air cleaner cover out of the way


Lift out the air cleaner element


Wipe out the air box

Wipe out the air box

1. Loosen the air cleaner cover retaining clips.
   
2. Move the air cleaner cover out of the way.
   
3. Lift out the air cleaner element.
   
4. Clean the air box of any dirt or debris.
   

1. Place a new air filter element into the air box making sure it is fully seated.
   
2. Install the air box cover and tighten the screws.
