There is a relay that controls the lights and maybe your light switch is no good.when you put on the park or headlights, power is sent to a relay then to the dash via the dash dimmer switch, which is a load resistor.move the headlight switch around and see if has any effect.i would check the battery, fuse box under the hood, the light switch and the relay that is clicking under the dash.

My 97 Grand Cherokee Laredo has the display screen for service and notification of low fluids and shows the jeep body. It tells me how many miles til my next service and so forth. I was wondering what...

The most likely cause of something like this in a Chrysler vehicle is a faulty Body Control Module (BCM.) I believe on the Grand Cherokee, it's located under the driver-side instrument panel. It will likely have to be replaced, but you may want to contact the dealer to see if re-programming the BCM might help it. These modules aren't cheap, unfortunately!

I hope this helps! :)

Instrument Panel goes on and off, as do headlights

You have to remove the panel to check onthe connections behind it, also check the headlights switch, they tend to burn out.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

If that many things went out at the same time its most likely a fuse issue. There are usually 2 fuse panels in the Jeep - one under the hood and one by the steering column. Check the proper fuses to see if they blew out and replace if needed.
