My wife hit something on the passenger side of of her 2011 Ford fission now you can't steer it Its like something is locking up Now the axle on the driver side where it goes into trans is locking Up ...

start where the right side was hit jack up the car & see if there is bent tie rods and look at the drive axle on the right side it could be jammed all the way in because now the right side is pushed into far or the axle shaft has bent also look at the strut alignment if it's in to far it's forcing the axle inward and jamming the transaxle you must put the car on jack stands to do this at the same height you will see that something is bent or knocked out of alignment the right side will show the more inward angle also look at the engine & trans mounts they could have been broken and now the hole power plant is out of alignment good luck and use a good jack/stands to climb under the car and have someone else there with you who is competent to help you if something goes wrong your wife may panic and not really know what to do so get a guy who is knowledgeable about these things most women just don't know & this is nothing against them it's not there thing so please be safe! I know that your not a mechanic otherwise you wouldn't be asking here so thumbs up to you for trying and your safety is of great concern any time you get under a vehicle do it in a safe place where no Dumbo's going to hit the car while your under it,it's happened to me that's why I'm including this here I had a dude back into the car while I was under it I just made it out in time before he knocked it off the jack stands on a street where there was 100 parking spots he had to park there and back into the car no less idiotic behavior is always a concern be safe Rodney please be safe!

How do you remove a transmission out of a 1995 Lincoln town car. The engines a 4.6

1 jack car up far enough to work under car use jack stands to support care during work for safety
2 Disconnect all fluid lines and electrical wires.
3 Disconnect trans from engine leave one bolt loosen on right and left side
4 place floor jack trans for support
5 disconnect drive shaft from transmission (there are two point in this process disconnect from rear axle housing an slide the drive line out from trans if this does not work disconnect drive line ujoint closes to trans also
6 Disconnect any trans linkage and supports remove bolts from
trans engine connection while supporting the trans with floor jack. while removing trans pull backward and be aware that the toque converter is in the front housing of trans and will fall out if front of trans is facing to far downward.
I recommend you use an auto manual to read up on this process before taking it on.

My 2001 cavalier makes aconstant humming noise. When I turn to the right it goes away. I am thinking it is the wheel bearing in the front right. Has anybody else noticed something similar?

Correct diagnosis, but make sure it isn't the left bearing. Jack the car up and check both wheels for play. If no play, start and put in drive (while still jacked up off both wheels), and listen to each side for the noise.

Starter motor always turning

The starter is not disengaging back. When you start the car the end of the starter pushes out, then retracts again. find out why it is doing that. This could be a mechanical problem. I dont think it is electrical at all.

Car alignment

left front drive axle. Your next oil change have the tech rack up your vehicle and have them look at the axles to see if the boot is open and dry. 1000% sure its the axle.
