Brake lights are out on a 1999 infiniti I30

There is nothing that backs up memory. When you disconnect the battery, all memory is lost, which is why it is important not to do it!

You don't tell us the model? Is it a secret? All questions need 'year make model' as the FIRST 3 words.

If your have a 1999 Infinity I30, the ECM Fuse is Fuse 58.

Sounds like a switch issue.

Go under the dash and the switch is above the brake pedal, carefull unlock the connetor to the switch and then pop the switch out.

my 2001 infiniti i30 gear wont shift unless I hit the brakes hard and my brake lights is not working whats going on help please

This is common issue with Infiniti I30 1999-2001.

When the coil packs fail they burn up components/parts on the engine computer ECU. If the problem gets worse, you will need to replace the ECU or have it rebuilt.

Is your check engine light on?

The Idle Air Control Valve MUST be replaced prior to re-installation of the ECM, or immediate damage to the computer will occur again.

Common Failures:

• No Start, Hard Start, Engine Stalls

As you have probably discovered, the diagram isn't included in the
Owner's Manual (http://www.downloadcarmanuals.com/1997-infiniti-i30-owners-manual-download) or even the service manual (Infiniti I30 and I35 Factory Service Manuals NICOclub).
It looks like the layout is the same as the Maxima from that era:

have code read then replace problem component or fix problem, light goes out on its own, or disconect ground from battery for 30 seconds reattach, light will come back though if problem is not adressed

if car hesitates you need fuel injection cleaner if very dirty you will need to change the fuel filter and drive the car until it cleans up.
