Trying to remove door latch on lincoln mark8 one bolt holding me up cant seem to see the head of it
SOURCE: 1997 Town Car - How do you remove the complete dash board panel?
There are 3 small bolts across the top where the front defrost grill is. 2 large bolts directly under the headlight switch and another big bolt lower right hand corner of the glovebox area.
SOURCE: 94 lincoln mark8 trouble codes 113 and 635 what
113 is the IAT (inlet air temp) sensor reading is above maximum voltage -40 deg indicated. This is the sensor that is in the air tube from the air filter box to the throttle body. It will have a black 2 wire connector. This is usually and open ckt like sensor unplugged.
635 is not a good code but the 600 series codes are transmission codes. However if it is a code 637 maybe, then that would make sense because that would be a trans fluid temp exceeds maximum voltage indicated -40 deg and both of these sensors share the same circuit in the GY/R wire, this is the signal return.
If this is the case you may have a broken wire so I would try and overlay that circuit from pin 46 of the PCM to the IAT sensor first and see if that corrects the 113 and it may also back feed that ckt and clear the other code also.

If you are getting the door ajar message you don't have to rplace the switch. Just spray it out good in the latch area with WD40. This will clean the switch contacts and make the message go away. I was a former Lincoln/Mercury mechanic and I used to see this problem on a daily basis. This was the Ford fix for this problem and the one I used on my own 98 mark VIII.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
