What would cause my 92 gmu Sierra 4x4 5.7 to sound great when first started then as soon as I pushed the window button down it sounds like it wants to die?

I would pull idle air control valve and clean it mass air flow cleaner and see if that helps , also sounds like low fuel your fuel injectors maybe on the way out , also check fuel pressure with a gauge at fuel rail

This sounds familiar. I know one thing that may be causing it is the security . This is a very common issue in GM's. It fails and then will not let your car start Its has happened to me. This company has a module that you can install yourself. great customer service... hope it helps ya

There is,If you do the lifter you could be after something else,The noise sounds like a collapsed lifter,A collapse lifter can cause a misfire,The 2003 GMC sierra or I should say the 4.8 engines suffer from a cut O-ring between the oil pump screen and the oil pump causing oil areation,resulting in lifter noise,The noise will be present a cold start and then diminish at warm up.

Sounds like the gears are bad. Try pulling up on the window while pushing the button. This may cause it to catch.

sounds like you cable may have broken or frayed . Power windows work on a push-pull operation .

Sounds like you may have broken your timing chain. Try doing a compression test. You should get pressures no less than 90-100 psi. If you find extremely low pressures,you probably lost the chain. This could have caused valve train problems. Good luck

THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE CLUTCH ON THE SIERRA THAT IF DOUBLE PUSHED DOWN IT ACTS LIKE A CHOKE. CANNOT QUITE REMEMBER. JUST LEAVE IT OUT OF GEAR AND DO NOT PRESS THE CLUTCH. THEY FLOOD. i KNOW THIS SOUNDS STUPID. I HAD ONE ONCE AND AFTER ABOUT SIX MONTHS IT STARTED DOING IT. ITS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE CLUTCH AND EXCELERATOR AND HOW YOU PRESS THEM. IT MIGHT BE YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE EXCELERATOR AT ALL JUST THE CLUTCH. I CANNOT REMEMBER HAVE A FIDDLE WITH DIFFERENT WAYS OF TRYING TO START THE CAR. CLUTCH DOWN ECCELERATOR DOWN CLUTCH OFF ECCELERATOR OFF. OR EVEN DOUBLE THE CLUTCH TO STOP THE CHOKE. ITS SOMETHING LIKE THAT. PHONE THE DEALER THEY WILL KNOW IN THE WORK SHOP. Very simple. Only one of a few things. First off. Push the up and down switch, listen, if there is a humming sound, your actuator may be fine. You window may be off track. If it is not off track, and there is a humming sound, then it may be the master switch. They are not that expensive. If it is not the master switch, the only other two things it could be is the up/down button or the connectors under the button. I hope that helped you out. Good luck and let me know. while in drive, engage the 4wd, then shift into neutral for 2 or 3 seconds, then shift back into drive. it works for my '98 ram.
